Trade deficit with China has exploded too, but we got us a tax cut.Nice job gop
Trade deficit growth is temporary and Obama added 9 trillion in 8 years to the debt. Trump has a long ways to go to double the debt the way Bush and Obama did. If the infrastructure thing doesn't happen, that will help.Trade deficit with China has exploded too, but we got us a tax cut.![]()

You people are hilarious. Income to the treasury and government expenditures vary greatly over the year. First Qtr of the physical year is almost always one of low receipts and high outlays. It doesn’t mean anything until the end of the fiscal year and everything balances out,
Gop congress. Thanks for proving my pointYou people are hilarious. Income to the treasury and government expenditures vary greatly over the year. Trump ( or any president) has about nothing to do with federal deficit. Congress is the body who has the power of the purse and appropriates funds for the federal govt. Until we get a president with enough steel in his sack to veto out of balance budgets it will never stop.
Besides I believe Obama holds the record by a long way for any one year deficit???
It’s the Democrats who refuse to vote for any any budget in the Senate that doesn’t increase funding for every left wing giveaway social programGop congress. Thanks for proving my point
In one sentence he says no president is to blame for a deficitGop congress. Thanks for proving my point
I assume youTrade deficit growth is temporary and Obama added 9 trillion in 8 years to the debt. Trump has a long ways to go to double the debt the way Bush and Obama did. If the infrastructure thing doesn't happen, that will help.
You do realize the bigger it gets the harder it is double it right? Trump added 2 trillion in two years with his grand economy, Obama started a with mess they had to spend lots of money on to get out of it. This great growth you guys brag about all the its started under Obama and has continued for two years under Trump. I hope it keeps goin, we'll see. The big bump we were supposed to get from the tax cuts ain't exactly going as planned. Now GM has shutdown one of those plants Trump said would stay.Trade deficit growth is temporary and Obama added 9 trillion in 8 years to the debt. Can you really make that comparison with a straight face? You do know what was going on when Obama took office right?Huh,,,,,,,GDP growth in 2018 was 2.9% and in 2017 was 2.2%
Obama’s first two years were -2.6 and +2.6 then 1.6, 2.2, 1.8

Well the tax cut thang ain't doin it and it NEVER has. You can crow about that all you want but it has not worked in the past so why do you think it will now?We spend way too much money no matter who is President or who controls Congress. People want their stuff! Actually it is harder to keep it from doubling because of the increased interest on that debt and the expectations to continue existing programs. Socialist policies always fail but people are always allured to them because they sound wonderful in principle. Two rules about socialism.....you always end up running out of other peoples money to pat for it and people always think they have a better way to implement it. Anyone who tries to cut back on social spending will either not get re-elected or not get elected at all. Growing the economy and revenues is the only accepted way out of the cycle and Trump is doing that (tax cuts) but it won't likely grow fast enough with all the demands for new spending.
Reagans tax cuts GREATLY increased revenues. Even Bushs tax cuts increased revenues just as Trumps have. The problem always is Congress spends the increases. Tax cuts always generate more revenue than they cost and tax increases always stifle growth reducing revenues long term.Well the tax cut thang ain't doin it and it NEVER has. Does Congress not pass the tax cuts? Does the president not have veto power on spending?Reagans tax cuts GREATLY increased revenues. Even Bushs tax cuts increased revenues just as Trumps have. Trump wanted a gazillion dollars more for the military, which already has the largest budget in the world, now he seems to think they have too much and he can take a couple of billion for the wall. Congress can't spend it unless he signs the bill they send him to do so. There is NO reporting at this time that says his tax cut has created MORE revenue.Reagans tax cuts GREATLY increased revenues. Trump has never claimed to be a budget hawk. I think he's a big spender but that doesn't change what I said. The tax cuts have and always do increase revenue.Does Congress not pass the tax cuts? Does the president not have veto power on spending?
Perhaps you should have attended school the days they taught civics
CNN isn't going to report anything positive about Trump. Revenues ARE up since the tax cuts. There is NO reporting at this time that says his tax cut has created MORE revenue.
He said he would eliminate the budget deficit during his time in office. I'll assume he meant 8 years, even if that happens his promise won't.Trump has never claimed to be a budget hawk. Ok you didn't respond to what I said about him. Just this weekend I saw a clip of him from 2016 saying he would have a balanced budget and it could be sooner than you think. Now tell me he wasn't supposed to be a budget hawk. I'm sure you'll say it was doctored and it's fake news.If he doesn't, it won't be because of tax cuts that generate more revenues.
It's not working. Dont make excuses you liberal. And every President in my lifetime has said the same. We pass 10 year plans that always end up not happening.
Trump said he was more worried about getting growth and prosperity to address the deficit than the deficit itself.
It's not working. Dont make excuses you liberal.
That's pathetic.
I saw the clip again today. He said he would BALANCE the budget. When asked how long would it take, 5 tears? He said maybe but I might surprise you. I'd bet the surprise he spoke of was NOT him raising the deficit 77%. When have they passed a 10 year plan? They can't even pass a budget for 10 months anymore. And every President in my lifetime has said the same. We pass 10 year plans that always end up not happening.
