Buck calls timeout with 32 seconds left in game......

It may be trashy, but are you really that concerned?
Let's see........nope I don't think so....well maybe, I'll let you know in a little bit.....

What would you expect? Just be glad that he didn't throw it to the one so the RB could get a rushing td against us.

42-21. That’s all that matters. He goes home, Webb moves on.

I don't see any problem with trying to get a "garbage" td when you're behind.

Well it sure isn't a crime but I do see the some irony that 2 weeks after pulling the run out of bounds antics against Mac County that the starters are kept in against the JV and CJ's RB goes from about -5 yards for the game to 15 yards. Not offended but chuckle worthy.

BTW CJ played their butts off the whole game.WC brought their A game. Coaches antics aside that was an very impressive CJ team this year.

Yea I didn't see anyone from CJ running out of bounds all night

All the past lip was in good fun. Great game, with big hits. Henderson proved where the best running back was from atleast in SWMO and Wall once again proved where the best lineman was from. Most impressive tackle in the game including all the BIG hits to me was Wall tackling Henderson going south down the home sideline. Couldn't see the number from the visitors side but was surprised to see Hendy get caught when they announced Walls name I was like DAMMMN! Hats off to Kennedy, that kid got pounded especially after he figured out if they were going to run the ball it was going to be him doing it. And Damn did he pay for it, over and over and over big hits but he took it like a timex. If WEBBs D plays like this the next three games, they ain't getting beat maybe not even threatened.

I don't remember Walls name being called more than 3-4 times all night long.

Everyone talks like he is the best D lineman ever, does he have any major college offers???

Wall did not make that tackle, he was trailing the play and was given credit by PA announcer. It was a very athletic play for a guy his size to even be in the neighborhood though.

I think he had 9-10 tackles. Not 18 like game 1 and not many in the backfield. IMO he is the best high school d-lineman in SWMO since Grant Wistrom. I don't know that he has a bunch of major college offers because he is not that tall. DI schools look for taller kids because they can add 30-40 pounds on their frame. I've heard Okla St has some interest as does Wyoming. Wherever he does go he will be very good.

WC did a great job scheming against Wall. Some speed option early and wore CJ out with the trap. WC coaches are pretty smart.

I agree the scheme was good but let’s credit to the kids up front also. No one was talking about the fact we had multiple kids starting their first game at O-line in week one. That unit improved leaps and bounds over the season and took it to a good CJ defense. They are a machine right now.

If any of you watched his interactions with special needs students you'd never question his class again. Or you'd at least stop casting your stones.

I think that is awesome. I have heard of him doing some good things off the field including volunteering some of his time to assist other teams' quarterbacks. BI have also personally witness him berate players and officials, throw some temper tantrums and do some other stuff that make me question his judgement and sportsmanship on the field. Not hearsay. Stuff I've seen.

He is a very good offensive coach and has done good things and Jenks, NEO, Carthage and Joplin. ,His coaching credentials are impressive.

My bad.... I forgot the mosports unwritten rule...."You shall only be permitted to talk trash before elimination game, once game has concluded it is forbidden to say anything negative directed to the eliminated teams, players and coaches....". I shall put myself in timeout.

Congrats to WC. They won a District title......again.
Why in the world is there a thread on here about a coach calling a timeout to get another score. This thread is the classless item of the two. I would bet had he not tried to score the thread would have labeled him as a quitter..Pffft!

And don't I recall WC's coach calling a pass to the end zone late in the game after the outcome had been decided? Trying to run up the score?

Personally, I didn't think there was an issue with WC or CJ, just pointing out the double standard by the Webbers (aka Webb City Posters) (a portmanteau more fitting than webbie)

I haven't said anything but will admit at first I was like wth? If we have a kid get hurt on a BS play with seconds left in the game that would be ridiculous. I mean really what was the point? Why risk something stupid happening when a score would mean absolutely nothing. Would of thought more of him by just taking a knee and shaking hands...

Kind of like when our kid intercepted theball at the and of the game,,,he ran about ten yards with it then took a knee. I was hoping he would take it back all the way and step out on the one yard line :)

Crazy that anyone that has ever seen Webb play would ever accuse Rod of trying to run up the score laughable!!

From what I watched it was a passing play on 4th and 17 with 4:00 mins left in the game. Webb had their backup running back in and the pass attempt was thrown to a freshman wideout. More of an effort to get a first down to run out some clock than trying to score. Pass and route were pushed a little long by good defense of the play

This was not classless but it was pretty pathetic. Your vaunted, high powered offense finally gets some rhythm against your opponent's #2/3s, you have to take advantage! Those that only read the box score will be very impressed. Those that were at the game will know how lopsided the game actually was.

Different scenarios, consecutive weeks.
Oct. 27, Princeton 42, South Harrison 0. Last possession of the game, SH varsity offense vs. Princeton's JV (and deeper) defense. SH runs its top running back, who gets 15 or 20, goes out of bounds as time allegedly runs out. SH coach successfully lobbies officials for a time-out with 0:11 left. SH then runs a flea flicker (lateral to RB, lateral back to QB, who throws downfield) that falls short of receiver to end game.

Nov. 3, Princeton 46, Hamilton 16. On its last possession, Hamilton runs up the middle for some yards, gets stopped, Princeton takes possession and runs Victory formation twice to end game.

I know which I prefer but will keep it under one of my very large caps. What do y'all think?

Maybe Coach Buck insisted before the game that the team play 100% for 48 minutes.....then held up his end of the deal? Now if the Cards were to have suffered an injury to a player that could affect the outcome of next weeks game, that would be a decision by Coach Rod for having that starter/major contributor out there in that situation.

Personally, if I were the CJ coach, I take that timeout. However, I get my seniors in a huddle by themselves briefly, then let them go to the sidelines together for the parents and fans to show their appreciation for a hard fought game (just outmanned) and a great season by most standards. I run my final plays with underclassmen to get them game experience. But that's just me.

Good points. But, I would not have cared if all the starters were in and the Cards scored. I do think the starting QB was still in?

New poster, long time reader. I know Top tried to get you all riled up years ago by sticking Webb folks with a slang name. Webb fans wore it well as they should have. I wouldn't care what name I or my town was called if it had 13 championships associated with it. :D

The reason I mention "Webber" is it is my new coined portmanteau (combining two existing words to create one new word like email for electronic mail) specific to Webb Posters and not speaking to the general population (Webbies) of your fine blue collared city.

If not for the Webbers, this site would be quiet and boring.

You have a power button as your avatar currently.

I just tried pushing it to turn you off.

Didn't work obviously.

Sorry guys.

Yeah, it seems like coach Buckmaster really cares about appearances
Most do these days. It's always a head scratcher to me. Most will hide behind that BS of just trying to get a score for the kids type statement. I've seen that multiple times this year. Just baffles me.

Btw, I don't know coach Buckmaster from Adam. And this isn't meant to offer an opinion on his decision. Just pointing out I've seen it quite a few times this season.
