Asked how come they changed their procedure for evidence they give to a grand jury in this case.

I think that is an interesting question that the DA needs to explain.

The grand jury process was almost as bizarre as announcing the result at 8 pm at night.

That process was designed to pass the buck away from McCulloch.

Wilson should not have faced any charges, and if McCulloch made the decision there would have been no charges.

He presented all of the evidence to a grand jury of 12 citizens of the county and they also decided there should be no charges

Why is it so hard for people to accept that the kid robbed a store, assaulted a police officer, and got shot and killed because of his own actions????

One can believe the right outcome occurred from a bad process.

How was the process bad ????

The system worked well,, only thing bad out of all of this is that Ferguson probably losses a good police officer

I think that is probably where I am at today.
I don't like how it was handled, but the correct outcome occurred. I wish there was possibly a more transparent process that may have prevented what happened last night, but I am not sure anything would have prevented it. It was going to happen and it was probably going to happen either way.

What happened last night was set in stone the day Rev Al and Jesse got involved. They could have hung the cop and the criminals still would have tried to burn the place down because they were given a free pass. This is what happens when your government is spending all their money on building their empire abroad and policing the world instead of paying attention to what is going on in their own backyard.

It wouldn't have mattered how they decided to investigate this case. They were in a no win situation.

If the DA decides then they scream cover up.

If he hands it to a Grand Jury....well you see the result there.

If the Grand Jury says a trial, then the only outcome that would satisfy them would be a guilty verdict.

What good would a trial do with the same evidence that cleared Wilson this week? It was handled about as well as it could have possibly been handled.

You have a professional Grand Jury who has worked together and trust each other reviewing evidence for months.
They knew all hell would break loose if they made this decision, but they went with the evidence that was presented. How would any of you like to have been on that jury?

I personally liked the way he presented everything to the public and that was about the only thing the government did right. Any reasonable person would have come to the same conclusion, and the ones who didn't, were never going to be convinced anyway.

Now the issue of securing the community is an outrage. Nixon's political career is ruined....if he had one left.

Wow. A whole thread of thoughtful and reasonable comments. I'm shocked this thread hasn't yet been hijacked.
