Brady to be suspended first half of season

I'm with Brady on this one. First, no one is looking at my cell phone or emails without a warrant. Second, the NFL is looking for a scapegoat in this fiasco in order for goodell to avoid another botched investigation. Why would Brady offer himself up as a sacrifice?
The NFL already has looked at the two equipment fellows emails and phone records. If Brady talked to them, then the NFL already has Brady's replies. To want the rest of his emails, means to me, that they want to look through other emails hoping for dirt in other areas of his life.

Just so everyone's clear:

The fact that members of the Patriots organization did indeed deflate balls in hardly in doubt (they have texts messages between equipment guys essentially stating as much); they only thing that's truly in dispute is how much knowledge Brady had of these happenings (and reasonable person knows that these "happenings" would not be happening at all without Brady's consent...)

I guess we will see. Brady appealed, why would he if he was guilty and they had any proof? All he can do by lying is hurt his legacy. If he was guilty he'd keep his mouth shut and let it pass. Secondly Kraft believes him 100%. Enough to fight the NFL over it. He believes what Brady told him and that was he had nothing to do with it. I hope they find nothing which by our laws he doesnt have to prove anything they have to prove hes guilty.....

There is no way in heck that Brady wasn't aware of this happening. I can tell when somebody sits in my chair when I am not here at work.

I'm sorry did Brady say he couldn't tell the balls were a little Underinflated? No. He said he had nothing to do with them being underinflated nor did he tell anyone to under inflate them.

Every baseball player that has ever been caught doping denied it right up until it could be proven.

Brady is not dealing with the US Justice System here (where you are innocent until proven guilty), he's dealing with the NFL's (which really just means Goodell's) legal system (and by all accounts, all that really matters in that system is whatever Goodell thinks will make him and the more popular...)

Not disagreeing with that except the appeals process goes through an outside arbitrator. Kraft and his attorneys have seen all the evidence the NFL. has. If his legal team thought they the NFL had anything why would he be fighting it? I think he gets out of it. Also all the guys on here mouthing " when your job tells you to turn something over you do it" I say BS. Have you all ever worked in a union. Ever had legal council? A. Brady works for Robert Kraft, and is represented by the Players Association. If they say NO guess what you say NO. PERIOD.

You need to read the analysis of patriot fumble rates by the folks at 538. It has made a difference.
Look how much Jarvis Ellis Green fumbled once he wasn't a Patriot! It is just a crazy thing we are all talking about inflation of footballs....

Actually, Kraft just announced that the Patriots would not longer fight their $1 mil fine and two lost draft picks (what say ye now, Peat?)

Must have been something there for Kraft to give up so easily.
If Tom gets the players association to drop their appeal we'll know there's probably something Tom doesn't want us to know. Those text messages and phone calls may become public if it goes through. The next few days will be interesting.

Yeah and look how Welkers fumbles decreased in Denver....Wonder why Bradys int to td ratio is so great? He must throw over inflated balls to the defense????

Just read that. The article also said there is wide speculation that Kraft dropped his appeal in exchange for promises of who would handle Bradys appeal although Scheffler said that wasnt true. Kraft and Goodell had a long private talk at a Birthday party last Saturday where they hugged at the end of it. Wierd but who knows what truthfully was said.

But Kraft also has long been a confidant and adviser to Goodell and was one of the owners who championed Goodell to replace Paul Tagliabue in 2006. Kraft also was one of the leaders in getting key owners and the union together to end the 2011 lockout, and he's been a major force in negotiations with TV networks.

"What I've learned over the last 21 years is the heart and soul and strength of the NFL is the partnership of 32 teams," he said Tuesday.

Kraft, who did not take questions from reporters Tuesday, remained critical of the NFL's handling of the incident, saying that the process "has taken way too long." He called the past few weeks "emotionally charged" and noted that he had two options -- "to end it or extend it."

"I think I made it clear when the [Wells] report came out that I didn't think it was fair," he said. "There was no hard evidence and everything was circumstantial. At the same time, when the discipline came out [from the NFL], I felt it was way over the top as it was unreasonable and unprecedented in my opinion."
