Bowling Green vs.Blair Oaks

Blair Oaks is close to 500 yards of total offense, Bowling Green is around 200 yards of total offense. Blair Oaks defense is holding up more than what the score indicates.

BO's kick coverage has hurt them. Gave up really long opening kickoff which gave BG a short field, BO 20 something yard line. Then BG also returned a kickoff for a score. BO has done better on coverage, they're kicking it short. It works but does give BG decent starting field position.

BG has either punted or turned it over on downs, or turned it over on 4 of 7 possessions.

For the second time this game Blair Oaks gets a penalty flag against them waved off.

Bowling Greene goes backwards. Has to punt on 4th andike 30. A fumble and a sack. Blair oaks starts drive on own 25.

Bowling green turns it over on downs. Blair oaks takes over on own 36. 3 minutes left.

Blair Oaks had 804 yards of total offense and scored 10 times. (All by offense)
445 yards rushing
359 yards passing
Dylan Hair 27 carries for 282 yards and 359 yards passing.
631 total yards for Dylan

Bowling Green had 293 yards of total offense and scored 6 times. (5 offense and 1 special teams, 4 starting in Blair Oaks territory)
219 yards rushing
74 yards passing
Starks had 26 carries for 141 yards.
Bowling Green had 94 yards total offense in second half.
Those two point conversions for Bowling Green, and Blair Oaks missing extra points/two point conversions kept the game close for Bowling Green score wise.

Unpopular opinion maybe, Blair Oaks in my opinion looked to be quite a bit better. This may also be an unpopular opinion, but Blair Oaks defense played a hell of a game. I know everybody likes to talk about their offense, but their defense can play too. It's an underrated defense. Limiting Bowling Green to around 300 yards of total offense, and getting 9 stops on 14 possessions against Bowling Green is something a lot of people said couldn't be done. Two of the scores given up, Bowling Green started deep in Blair Oaks territory because of an offensive turnover and a long kickoff return. They gave up some stuff, but did what they needed to do to get stops. They were able to keep Bowling Green from being able to drive the ball down the field consistently. Hats off to the Blair Oaks defense, because I know people will have a misconception based on the score.

Also hats off to the offensive lineman, receivers and running backs for Blair Oaks. All the talk will be about Dylan Hair, rightfully so, the kid is special. Period. But Blair Oaks is a team, and they have other guys who can play really good football as well. O line protected really well in the pass game, and blocked really well in the run game. The running backs and receivers also blocked really well on the edges, made good runs and catches when called upon.

Outside of a couple of bad turnovers and a couple of bad coverages on kickoff. Blair Oaks played a complete game against a very good Bowling Green team.

Now off to face Lamar, which will be the best team Blair Oaks has played all season.
