Both parties

It ain't too tough, a magazine, or clip, holds a certain number of bullets from 3 on up to whatever you want I guess. I had never heard of this drum magazine the guy had with 100 rounds in it and he had more at the ready they said. I have NO idea why that was ever legal to have for the general public.
For a skilled operator, someone willing to spend time getting proficient changing magazines the size of the mag makes little difference. To fire 100 rounds with ten round magazines requires 9 magazine changes. Someone very good can change a mag in about 2 seconds. So you are looking at a difference of about 20 seconds firing 100 rounds with ten round mags vs a 100 round drum.

Go to YouTube and search for “AR Speed load”,,,,,

But for the typical homeowner having to fumble around changing magazines in a life or death situation may get him killed

If he can't get the intruder with the first 10 rounds he's most likely dead anyway if that is the intention the intruder. If not then is killing someone over your TV, phone or computer the right thing to do? 20 seconds more shooting time could have been 10 more dead in Ohio. Can those that change gas that fast do it the the shooting is real? NO one need more than 10 rounds at a time for anything close to a good reason.
