Was a great game. Borgia took lead in second half and never looked back. Pacific made it close in the end, but Borgia was just too much. Great season Pacific and good luck next year at Mizzou CVL

What a game, and to be honest, what a surprise! Borgia was up 27-23 at half. I thought it would be a close one, but Borgia pulled out to a lead and was up by as much as 14 points in the second half. Pacific didn't give up though and made a run very late in the 4th quarter to pull within 3. Cullen Vanleer is an amazing athlete! He put his team on his shoulders and almost pulled it out in the end. Given a little more time he might have just done it. The Knights managed to hit key free throws to protect their lead when they needed it most. I have the utmost respect for Coach Vanleer and the Pacific Indians. While I'm happy that the Borgia Knights are once again District Champions, I think it's a real shame that a deserving Pacific Indians team couldn't advance. Early in the year I predicted that this was Pacific's year to finally pull out a district championship and advance on to the State Tournament, but the Knights seem to be able to pull it all together during this time of the season. Congratulations to the Borgia Knights...2015 District 9 Champions!

SWJ, Never bet against ' Tradition " if the talent level is close. The talent level between Pacific and Borgia is about 1-2 baskets in a 32 minute game but when you factor in the ' Tradition Factor " and the importance of a district championship, that is not enough to defeat a team who has won seven district championships in a row.

Borgia will play Rolla next Tuesday evening in Rolla and will be an underdog before tip-off. Borgia is a young team with a bright future while Rolla is an experienced basketball team worthy of winning the class 4 state championship. I don't believe tradition will be a factor in this sectional match up because Rolla could have a 6-7 basket advantage. The Good news for Borgia is Rolla will be back to being Rolla next season and Borgia will be close to being the old Borgia that put banners on the wall.

Class 4 districts 1, 4 and 7 may put up a challenge to the class 4 district 10 champion.

Metro, you are so right! I never count the Borgia Knights out of anything. I just thought that the Youthful Knights were a year away from another district championship, especially with the talented Pacific Indians waiting for them. Borgia certainly has tradition on their side. Guess I underestimated how much of a driving force it was. The Knights pulled a big victory out of the hat tonight and I'm very proud of that group of talented, young athletes!
