Bogey: I can feel it. Can you?

I was thinking about Bernie this morning when he was being discussed on the news and I agree with him probably more than any other candidate, but I also watched the Republican debate and as an independently thinking voter I have to vote for someone who will keep any of those 17 from being elected and if that is Hillary, then so be it. I understand and agree with many of the arguments against her, but we have to keep the dogmatics out of office. They are running under the guise of freedom and constitutionality, with the belief that if they scream it loud enough and often enough a majority of the American people will buy it, while actually wanting to limit the freedoms and trash the Constitution for anyone who doesn't believe the way they do. I truly feel there is a destructive force in the Republican party who wants to speed our way toward Armageddon through climate change denial, war, and poverty.

You sound like a real independent. What exactly did you disagree with that was discussed in that debate?

  • War with Iran
  • More war in Iraq
  • War with China or anyone else who disagrees with us.
  • Flat tax
  • Letting a mother die to attempt to save a fetus
  • That God speaks to Republican Presidential candidates
  • Cutting Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security, and Food Stamps
  • Getting rid of Obamacare, my inlaws saved $700 per month through the exchange.
  • Defunding Planned Paranthood
The fact that I agree with positions of one side over the other doesn't mean I haven't researched both sides and made my own decision. Letting people tell you what to think is a Republican trait so I disagree with them. In fact I find it amusing they sneer at people who are considered the "academic elite. " Shouldn't we be listening to smart people?

That should answer your question Ken.=)

Rand Paul said all of that huh? Interesting.
Now your not paying attention 56. He said what he heard that night not what Paul said. Every topic he mentioned was stated on stage that night and they all stood there and spent their time trying to one up each other or bashing Hillory and Obama. In a nut shell lets go to war and make sure the rich has no skin in the game so they can continue to line their pockets at the expense of the middle class.. Just my take on it, but I am a socialistic liberal.

He did say Food Stamps were like slavery and I disagree with that.
He says the ACA is unconstitutional, I disagree with that.
He opposes the Iran deal, which I feel is a stupid position by all who oppose it.

Are you voting for all of them or just one? Anybody that claims they wouldn't elect any of those men off a halfass debate is lying. They were never going to vote for any of them before that debate.

He's leading in New Hampshire.

Yes, but one expert on here says that Hillary doesn't spend a second of her day thinking about Bernie. She just suddenly came up with a debt-free college plan in response to Bernie's free college plan. Bahaha.

There's a long history of people winning the New Hampshire primary and losing the nomination. It's just stupid to think Bernie can win. He has no support outside of white America. If Hillary implodes, it will be Biden (and a long line of other people) that will get the nomination before sanders.

Only Bogey has said he might win.
I don't think he has a prayer.
But he is making noise and dragging
Hillary left as he goes.
#feelthebern.

His age doesn't help.
He will definitely be energizing the college crowd ala Ron Paul.
When he raises his voice and says the
"Billionaires CANT HAVE IT ALL" I do want
to storm the board room and disrupt the CEOs. Bahaha

Cow just last night I saw a report that black rapper has pulled his support from Clinton and thrown it behind Sanders. We'll see if he has enough of a following to start a move in the direction for young black voters. If this is pushed on social media it could swing things quickly. I don't know who he was or how popular he is.

I like Bernie a lot and I like what he's brought to the conversation, unfortunately in today's America he would bring the idiots out of the wordwork to ensure a gay liberal doesn't win the White House and for me it is more important to keep the crop of bozos on that stage from winning the election with a more moderate Hillary. Ideally I would like to see Bernie win and see what could happen, but I just don't think he can win the general and if we nominate him we are making the same mistake as the Republicans who are going to most likely nominate someone who is far right of mainstream. They boo the people in their own party who present ideas that most Americans agree with.

A candidate on the D side can easily win NH and IA and lose the primary. Two of the whitest states in the U.S - a candidate with low support from minorities can win there but not win the primary. Plus Bernie is a local candidate in NH - those wins can get discounted.

And Bernie is uniquely qualified to get almost zero support from dem super delegates - the D party's national machinery is not going to back an independent over someone who has been a part of their party for decades (and superdelegates count for a lot in the D primary). This is a major difference between him and Elizabeth warren or other democrats - look at how few endorsements sanders has from superdelegates. I believe Martin o malley even has more than him right now - a shocking statement.

Iowa is a lot more important for him than NH in terms of building relevance for Ds. It picked Kerry and Obama.

Don't forget who won NH in 2008 for the dems. It's become a bit like Iowa is for the Reps - not all that good at picking a winner due to the difference between its primary population and the national base for the party.

Isn't this a reason to be happy Bernie ran even if you think he can't win (assuming you support the policy, which I don't)

who besides Biden?
That's a good question. I'm not sure there is anyone. Who do you think?

I think a logical backup would be if someone else with real credibility ran in the primary as a waiting in the wings candidate, but that approach has done nothing for o'malley

One rapper isn't a movement. Look at cleaver going to Iowa to campaign for Hillary. The black D establishment is all in on Hillary. That's going to matter in a place like South Carolina where john Lewis has a lot of clout.

I think it says a lot about sanders' electability that a lot of Rs would love to see him over Hillary, a candidate with a number of weaknesses

I'm pretty sure I didn't say it was. I said IF he has a big following and IF it gets going on social media it 'could' turn quickly. I have no idea who the guy is or how much juice he has with young black folks. Seems like I recall the internet being a big deal for Obama.

Honestly, they'd pick Al Gore before they picked Sanders.

One win in New Hampshire does get the momentum growing and puts some water on the Hillary as prohibitive favorite that the media and big money have already annointed her as Dem candidate. It's early fellas, anything can happen. Remember, many thought Obama couldn't get enough white votes.

Again, New Hampshire is not a good indicator of who will win the nomination. Hillary is the prohibitive favorite. The polls all bear it out.

I honestly don't know. There really is no one who can be a future leader. I thought Booker might but he has had struggled. Elizabeth Warren? Gore has been talking to people a little. I don't think people will ever get past 2000.

Iowa is sanders only shot. The next primary after NH is SC where Clinton is going to crush him.

Rs want a socialist? Where do you get that? As bad as I think Hillary is, I want her to get the nomination. Almost all people I know just want no Bush or Clinton.

I assume he said that because the R's think Bernie would be much easier to beat than Hillary in the general, not because they want him to win in the general.

I don't know about the Rs but I want what is best for the country and a Socialist isn't that.
