Blair Oaks

Blair Oaks is so disciplined in everything they do. They are impressive in how they warm up, stand on the sideline etc. Quite the program they have built in Wardsville. They are essentially a smaller school version of what the Jays used to be. It wasn't that long ago when Blair Oaks was using Lincoln's field and they practiced on a field that was a glorified cow pasture.

04 pig on practice field. Ask around

Most people in the area know that this is all thanks to one particular coach who started in 2001... ;)
Just an opinion from someone that has spent a fair amount of time around the Falcon and Jr. Falcon programs ... The 2001 coach did start the winning tradition. He was blessed with a couple of insanely talented classes, but did nothing to develop a feeder program. The credit for sustaining the program should fall directly to the coach that came in 2006 and his vision for the Jr. Falcon program. He alone, cannot take sole credit for the success. He was fortunate to have a supportive community and a group of hard-working and fund-raising folks like Paul, Bill, Kent, Matt, and the many others that have spent countless hours behind the scene. This is where the foundation for the varsity's success was laid and what has sustained the success of the varsity program.

Blair Came from former govenor of missouri james blair from cole county. Oaks because the land was full of oak trees. That is what i was always told anyway.
But yet you have a Jefferson city mailing address. lol

Correct... Jeff City and Blair Oaks are completely different district lines. Blair oaks district lines can choose between BO or Helias, and Jeff city district lines can choose between JC or Helias. JC and BO do not overlap.
Or Capital City and Helias now!

This is correct, LePage brought the importance of essentially 7th and 8th grade programs, but that was as far as it ever got with him. Honestly I think he knew he wouldn't be around real long the first time around. He is definitely more committed to the school now, as I think he wants to finish his career out there, most likely.
But as you said, Coach Drehle deserves the most credit for where the youth program is today, he essentially started the actual Jr. Falcon program. I think this was the best thing he did for Blair Oaks, he won some games and had some good teams, but to me this was his best accomplishment as the head coach. I don't mean this in a negative way, this is what the program needed to like you said, sustain the success of the program down the road. Of course you mentioned some people who also had a big part in the Jr. Falcon program too, as it takes a bunch of people to make a program like Blair Oaks stay the way it is.

So sort of like East Newton, or Mac County in this area, the school district is made up of several towns. Their name just has a cool rich Private school vibe.
Granby, Newtonia, and Stark City dont sound cool, rich, and private?

I think you have to make BO the favorite... But, if they come in thinking they are going to steamroll Cassville, They will get beat. If they cant match the physicality of the Wildcats it will be a long night. Cassville may not be as quite as physical or totally as talented as they have been in the past but they can play. And, if they get rolling........

BULLIT alluded to this earlier in this thread or another. I think it will be a closer game than a lot of people think it will be. I know it insults a lot of B O fans when you insinuate they are not as good as last year, but they just aren't IMO, and being practical it should be tougher deep in class 3 than it was in class 2 although Lamar stood that premise on its head for a few years.

Don't forget about Osage Bend, have to show them some love. The 4th town to make up the school district.

Four old hard core German Catholic agricultural communities made up of industrious, thrifty, family oriented people. Spent some time working around those communities and never met anyone not friendly or willing to help a stranger in need. I think the emergence of the high school may have kept some students at home instead of attending Helias.
The foregoing may contribute to the misconception that Blair Oaks is a private school.

Being around the program for the last 25 years, last years BO team was about as good as it gets. I do not think fans are insulted by that comment, and they shouldn't be. Last years team was the perfect storm of insanely talented and hard working players, a veteran QB, a great defense, great coaching, and an RPO scheme that was just too much for most high school players to read.

While the defense may be just as good, if not better then it was last year, the offense has shown its struggles at times, but its getting better at the helm of a freshman QB (who is a better runner, and may be the best "athlete" of his older brothers who held the QB position the last 5 years). The "kid" just turned 15 a couple weeks ago. Tons of skill positions back next year. They should be just fine for several years to come.

Saturdays game will be a good one.

I really do think this game will be close, while others might say Cassville is not as talented as years past, they have still proven they can win. They have one of the fastest kids I have seen at Running back in a long time that kid is fast. And that is not saying BO is an easy out, just no way of knowing until these teams meet on the gridiron, they have to be pretty good to have made it this far.

If this game is in Barry county I give the Cats the edge, however again since Cassville is on the road I am just not as sure about it, again both Wildcats loses have been on the road. But maybe old Bullit stirred up old Wildcat nation just enough, that they will hit the road like the old days... again you're welcome!

The address is actually a Jefferson City address. The towns of Wardsville, St. Thomas, and Taos are feed into Blair Oaks HS.

They won't come thinking they are going to steam roll Cassville. They all know it will be a tough game. Cassville has been a consitent winner for a very long time and do things the right way, just as BO. What BO may lack in physicality, Which they are physical, but they have some burners that can flat out run and pursue. It will be a great game, Falcon Athletic Complex will be absolutely packed and atmosphere will incredible. Worth making the trip to watch this one.

Coyotes, has losing their all state nose guard for the year weakened their defense any? Or are they just that deep?

Jefferson City was used up until recently, now Wardsville is being reconized by the PO. Either one will get the letter/package to the address. Also, Osage Bend feeds Blair Oaks.

Agree, I think it will be a good game. The winner of the district Cassville comes from has not lost in this round since MSHSAA went to this current format. But, this years BO team might be the biggest threat we have seen to that.

I have been impressed with Cassville they have just enough weapons and they play hard nosed. I think their defense is better than they get credit for. I have seen BO on film and they also look solid. Their QB being just a freshmen is scary if you are looking to the future.

Definitely a loss... no doubt. Against buffalo, they had moved a kid that typically plays an OLB/DE position up front to nose guard. A little undersized compared to previously, but has great technique and a lot of motor. He did well by beating a back side zone block and chasing the play down from behind. Wouldn't shock me to see Cassville go right at him though if they have size on the line. BUT... he is backed by 3 very, very good, stout, physical, and high IQ linebackers. BO Linebacker play leads the defense.

Agreed.. Cassville isn’t talented enough to beat BO.

BO has been really bad on stopping the run this year, everytime a team runs up the middle they have success, also Buffalo was driving the ball on them every time they just kept fumbling and turning over the ball, Its gonna be a good game for sure tho.

Blair Oaks has held multiple teams to negative rushing yards this season. Boonville’s all state running back ran for 7 yards against them and Versailles All State QB had -22 rushing yards
