Blair Oaks 21 Tolton 0 7:32 1st

I said it after week one. Blair Oaks had a damn good QB and former Jeff City coach running a more complex offense would be tough to beat in Class 2.

BO is great. But let’s sew them whip someone good before we crown them soon to be champs.

Well they did beat Maryville Week 1.... My Opinion Second best team in Class 3 and the only class 3 school that might be able to match Trinity score for score

No one is matching Trinity. And I don’t take pleasure in saying that at all. Maryville is decent this year.

The D Coordinator that was at CBC when Blair Oak’s HC was at Jeff City has been running Lutheran North’s defense the last 2 years. He was 4 - 0 vs Jeff City. I’m hoping they’ll get to reacquaint themselves in the Semifinals in a few weeks.

Lutheran North has also played 5 schools this season that run variations of RPO offenses, in addition to 2 that run a true Triple Option. It won’t be a scheme that LN’s players haven’t seen in games and it’ll be exciting to watch BO’s WRs matchup vs LN’s DBs. Their base 3-3-5 defense is what most college teams counter a 4 WR Spread RPO with.

You got to take into consideration long bus ride to Maryville 4.5 hrs. Weather conditions at end of Nov could be cold (even snow) on a grass field.

Hound Pound tough place to play. Only 2 losses there in last 10 years.

Maryville has to deal with Odessa first too.

I have Trinity as most likely. And a close second to Odessa.

Trinity travelled over 5 hours to Ohio before beating up on LaSalle. That would be the same LaSalle team that beat Lutheran North earlier in the season. Also, Trinity plays on a very crappy grass field and have done so in very wet conditions. I'm not predicting an outcome, but just saying they are well adjusted long rides and playing in subpar conditions.

I wonder how Jeff City splitting into two high schools will affect Blair Oaks in the future?

Would parents really move just to be able to enroll their kids in another high school?
Yes. Happens in SWMO all the time. Houses in the Webb City school district generally do not stay on the market for very long.

Yes its own, but people moving out to Blair Oaks out of Jefferson City. I wonder if that will change with new high school in Jeff City.
Blair Oaks is growing like crazy. Big brick homes and estate type properties going up like mushrooms. Assessed valuation of properties within the district increasing like crazy. I either read or someone told me they have plans for a completely new high school in very near future. I think that district continues to grow with young upwardly mobile families which translates to great support for all school programs.

I know Blair Oaks is growing. I just wonder if people will stay and build in Jeff City now, with the new high school instead of going out to Wardsvillle.

Six of one, half a dozen of the other, I suspect. I think some prefer the smaller school size that B.O. offers (you will have more multi-sport athletes at the smaller school as a rule) and others may prefer the larger size that J.C. will offer. Both will be new schools so that factor alone won't be the deciding one. Frankly, I am more curious about whether the new J.C. school will affect the Helias Catholic or Calvary Lutheran (no football at this time) enrollments.

I don't expect the new JC school to affect any of the other schools. From word of mouth they are not putting much additional into that second JC school in which to truly make things better in the district especially for the new school. Helias and Calvary are private schools and they get students from all over the local area both JC, Blair Oaks, Callaway area, Russelville, and Eugene school districts. I don't see that affecting much with just the split of JC. Blair Oaks school district continues to be a go to district for people looking for a good school in the area where they can establish roots and it has shown with new homes and values of existing homes going up continually.

Father Tolton...4 personal fouls and a player ejected tonight. Great display of “Christian” athletes. They should be proud....
Just of reflection of their coach I guess. He's a guy who called an onside kick in the third quarter up 52-6. That kind of stuff will come back to bite.
