Train, Does the Sikeston Bulldogs have a rotation player out for districts? The Bulldogs are right where they want to be in the finals of class 4 district 1 with Cape Central. Sikeston has defeated the Cape Central Tigers two times this season while playing @ home. This neutral floor contest should be a " Toss Up " with the team playing their game, getting the breaks will walk away with the win and advance to the sectional where Hillsboro or Farmington will be waiting and Vashon in the background.

I've gotta admit the road to the class 4 final four does not favor the young Bulldogs ( One Freshman, two Sophomores and one Junior named Fred Thatch ) but that's why they play the game.

Just curious...did Sikeston play a tough enough schedule to get it ready for a post-season run?

Train, I was under the impression when someone from SEMO quits or is removed from the team, They call it " Being Sick ". Train, Can you get humor in the being sick thing?

Lol ain't that the truth. A lot of the teams will "kick players off" and then they are brought back a few games later. The players were sick was pretty funny since that wasn't the truth. But at Sikeston Holifield don't play. You follow the rules or your suffer the consequences, even if it's a small thing which is what this was. He teaches kids. It's not only about winning. It's educating. Other schools seem to want to win at all costs. When you kick a player off for a few games or suspend only to bring them back, that isn't teaching them anything.

Rumors are flying the senior was angry because a recently moved up freshman was inserted into a game before the senior ( Rotation Player ) Bucket can you dispel the rumors on why the senior was removed or quit the team? If a senior is on the bench and been in the Sikeston program for years, The coach and administration must give the player or players the benefit of any doubt before removal.

Nobody quit the team. Quit making crap up. What is wrong with you?

The kid is not a senior. He was removed from the team because he broke team rules. It had NOTHING to do with playing time. Let me say again...it had NOTHING to do with playing time.

Coach Holifield will allow the young man the chance to try out again next year with a clean slate.

Bucket, I'm guessing the Junior rotation player broke team rules a few days before districts and was removed from the team, Am I correct? Most high school coaches will give their players who have been their basketball program for 4-5 years " The Benefit of the doubt ". I have only heard of one or two players in my lifetime who have been removed from a team 8-10 days before districts. This must have been one whopper of team rule that was broken or did the player break all of the team rules.

Bucket and Rocket, Does this removal have anything to do with Sikeston's play over the past few days. I' m sure this removal will make the kid a more productive person in life. This kid should not be on the pass list to attend class 4 district 1, that will show him.

He was removed from the team about 3 weeks ago and he was not a rotation player he was a starter

Train and Rocket, What team rule or rules did this kid break or is this an in house " Rule Breaking "?

We must remember, we are in the " Kid Business " and kids make mistakes but in most cases their mistakes are correctable in an ole fashion meeting with the coach, administration and parents.

I don't think posting what rule a kid broke needs to be public knowledge.

MFloyd, you are correct, this information should not be public knowledge. I was told what happen and this is nobody's concern. I hope he returns to the team next year and plays well next year.

MFloyd and the Sikeston fans, Good luck against Cape Central on Thursday evening. It's going to be tough, just remember what got you to the finals of class 4 district 1.

So you asked on a public board but now that you know it is nobody's concern? That is funny to me.

Hey 341A, What's your take on the Sikeston-Cape Central game on Thursday evening? 341A, get that neck out there and see what happens? Most of my basketball confidant are on Cape Central to win class 4 district one but Sikeston has Fred.
