I ran some of these projections and it had Seneca beating Republic and only losing to Nixa by 14. This thing really loves Seneca.

I mean they have some impressive wins, however, it has always made really good smaller school probably a bit too competitive with bigger schools. That's probably the biggest error I've seen in these projections. It's like the algorithm barely takes into account the difference in quality of athletes between small and big schools

any algorithm that takes 'class' into account is going to be meh at best.

Ik what you mean, but since it doesn't take size into account, it is always going to have the small schools be way better than they actually are. For instance, right now it has Webb as the 49th best team in the state and Maryville at 50 with a projected score of Webb 28 and Maryville 24. Ummmmm sorry but no. that is not close to how that would play out

Another example is Warsaw ranked 58 and Camdenton 68. that game would be a blowout win for Camdenton every single time but the algorithm is skewed towards small schools. Not saying I know how to fix it because I do not

Warsaw hasnt played bigger schools im pretty sure.

What i mean is playing a horrible class 5 team that would lose to most class 1 JVs and getting huge points for that.

Use a model like Sagarins that takes the important stuff into account.

Like how good your team actually is.

Let's leave Springfield Central out of this.
