KT was the one that came to my mind immediately. Corey Gibson (3R and then SEMO???) was a pretty darned good player. Think he was head at Kelly. Maybe not, can't remember. Brett Hale (SEMO) was awfully good as well. Head at Potosi now.

I don't think Corey has been a high school coach, went straight into college assistant jobs as far as I know. Now an assistant at Mo State I think. Went to 3R then Austin Peay as a player. Will Durden also followed that route then was an assistant at 3R, now head coach at P.B.

Good call 3R. Got my Cory's confused. Was thinking of Cory Johnson.

Add Lennies McFerren, Fred Johnson, Danny Farmer, Sylvester James and, C.J. Hadley.

Chris Pilz (UMSL) Waynesville
He could have played at a higher level for sure.

Jim Cain - Blue Springs HS - UCM - HC at Blue Springs South

Betty Lennox - All-State at Fort Osage, AA at La. Tech. - WNBA - HC at Van Horn HS

Where did they play? just curious
My memory ain't so good and some of them played a long time ago but I'll give it my best guess. They all played for Coach Bess at 3 Rivers. Hadley played at Bell City, Farmer at Charleston, Syl James coached at Hayti HS but I can't remember if he played there or not. Fred Johnson at Oran I think and McFerren at one of the schools that now make up NMCC, can't think of the name of the school at that time. I should also add Dusty Dinkins to the list. Good player at South Iron and 3R, and an even better coach at South Iron now. Many more guys that played for Coach Bess went to coach HS school ball that were not Missouri HS players.

You are correct on Cory Johnson and he has also been an assistant at Jackson.
Jim Bidewell was 'a pretty good coach' at Portageville for many years. :D Hall of Fame good. He played HS school ball at P.B.
