Best Matchups for October 27? What do you have?

I will be out of the state, so won't be attending a game this week. Not all are teams that are serious title contenders, but these games at least have some intrigue:

Smithville @ PC
Rockhurst @ LSW
Lathrop @ Lexington
Westran @ Fayette
Clark County @ Macon
BSS @ Rock Bridge

Gut check time for Smithville...do they have the stuff this year?

Ranked by what measure? Calpreps?

The only thing that matters in this discussion is St. Louis is gaining in championships won in the top 2 classes, where StL and KC truly compete with each other. I'd say most would agree the depth in KC is greater, but at the top the gap has closed. This is a good thing BTW.

Class 3 and 4 St. Louis Champs: 3 since 2002. That's 10 %

NOT EVEN the level of "occassional." That is called a non-factor.

The gap in Class 5 and 6 hasn't closed just because the frequency of St. Louis teams winning. The ranking %s over the last five years match the % of championships over the past 20. Long term, the quality shows through...small sample sizes or a recent abberation in the # of titles won't change the averages over the long haul. It may be a trend in the # titles, but not in the number of high quality teams.

What is it with the lack of respect for Calpreps (who was 91% accurate last week by the way.) The only completely objective measure of team performance. Which, by the way, gets more accurate as the season progresses. Why would I not trust that as a source for ranking? Who am I supposed to trust more? I beat writer from St. Louis? Gimme a freggin' break.

The last 14 years would be

2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003

that's the last 14 years by my counting, Kearney won in 2015, 2009, 2003

3/14= 21.42857% to be exact as you say
Wow sorry I missed that..................professor.

Better be able to defend the pass. That being said the weather may be a big help for the Warriors as it WILL be cold the question is whether it will be WET.

Previous posting say CalPreps has Smithville winning districts, beating Moberly and then losing to Webb City in semis. Why even ask?

I say it's most likely a KMO - PC Highway 92 Bowl rematch with Kearney getting the slightest advantage because of history and game at home.

I'd like Smithville to win but not tested and proven the same as PC.

District 8

1. Kearney - 48
8. Winnetonka - 0

4. Lafayette St. Joe - 35
5. Excelsior Springs - 24

3. Smithville - 38
6. Savannah - 10

2. Platte County - 49
7. St. Joe Benton - 17

Second Round

1. Kearney - 28
4. St. Joseph Lafayette - 21

2. Platte County - 27
3. Smithville - 31

Championship

1. Kearney - 17
3. Smithville - 22

Calpreps is really good at what it does, giving a hypothetical some argument. I love how you have turned what was initially completely factual data points and confused it with bs. Nobody is saying StL is better than KC overall in really any way, just that the gap is closing. That's undisputed.

I bet Calpreps has Macon beating Clark County this Friday (they did before last week anyway). Let's look at that one again after this week.

It’s not a headliner game but I think Carthage v Neosho could be good. Neosho surprised Carthage 2 weeks ago and seems to be getter better late in the season. Carthage on paper should win by a lot but has struggled at times this season so I would not be surprised to see a close game. Based on what I saw a couple weeks ago, Neosho winning the district as the bottom seed isn’t out of the question in my opinion.
