Belton @ Battle

Don't know much about Battle this year. But given their record and how they've been the past two years, I'll take Battle.
Battle is very good, but has not been playing well. Very undisciplined team that gets a lot of silly penalties that will catch up with them. They are a much better defense when the quarterback plays CB and the McQuitty kid plays safety. Not sure if they will play them much there. If Belton can throw, they have a good chance. Not sure of what happened last week, but heard a fight broke out in their game. Not sure if anyone has to miss a game or not either.
Most points Belton Defense gave up this year was 35 in week 2 to liberty, in which they had two defensive starters out. They have averaged giving up 15.9 ppg this year.
In the Battle Vs. Raytown game, following the fight on the field. There starting right guard was ejected so they are down a player as well.
Battle wins games because of athletes. They frankly deserve to lose a game to wake them up. They are undisciplined and the way their program is run really a reflection of it. I know guys who used to coach there, and they all say that it's all a scrappy, chip-on-your-shoulder, undisciplined culture. They worry just as much about their walkout song and what alternate uniforms they'll wear for games than winning them
Belton will put on the "war paint", saddle up the gator, and bring home a victory this Friday.
I never said that they were bad kids or didn't play their tails off. But I don't like the culture that they've got there. I coach with a guy that coached there the first two years of their program. I'm not going to get in a d!ck-measuring contest with someone on the internet, but if you're going to call me ignorant, at least spell it right.
Battle's game against Truman is the one that makes me think they won't get past Belton. But the Jeff City and Vianney wins are good. Interesting to see how the #5 ranked Class 5 team in KC matches up against Battle. Belton has a good running back. They like to grind away. Very good team.
I believe he was going for the French pronunciation of ignorance.
Don't know anything about the Battle coaching staff, but their head coach Justin Conyers has a good reputation. VERY successful start-up program. Sounds more like jealousy to me.
No, I'm not really jealous of Battle's program. I do think Conyers is a good guy and a good coach, but is still young and is kind of the stereotypical young coach. Give him 10 years and he'll be the best coach in Missouri (for Class 5 schools)

McQuitty is very good, but not the best receiver in the state. The Jr. from CBC is a little better IMO.

They are 10-0 this season. That doesn't happen by chance for many public schools.

Battle would be an "also ran" if they were in KC. KC dominates this class. Have averaged getting three out of the top five every year.
Unless more injuries happen, fights break out and players get suspended, or oh yeh they lose before they get there like last season. I would not be too cocky. Anything can happen this time of year. Brevin Tyler is a class act and has done a great job leading that team. It will be on his shoulders to get them back. But by no means is it guaranteed.
