Before the Tigers hired Kim Anderon

Completely your opinion, formed solely on results-based thinking. Shocker.
In year 3, I would expect to see some results. I'm not a person that believes in handing out orange slices after the game to college coaches getting paid in excess of $1M/year because they're trying hard.

In what year should I expect to see this progress that you see Kim Anderson making being reflected in the W-L record?

But, they've stayed out of the news, he has a promising core of young guys that will sneak up on some people.
I don't see any talent in the young core. They can't score, and they haven't snuck up on anyone any of the years that Kim Anderson has been here. They've lost every game they should've lost and won none of the games they weren't expected to. Instead, they lose to the likes of UMKC and NC Central and get blown out by fringe top 25 teams like Arizona.

What would results look like right now? Undefeated?

We would ALL agree the NCC loss was horrific. It would have been good to get Davidson...but are we 2 losses away from what you want really? And, we almost beat a very solid Xavier team.

And if years one and two weren't filled with cleaning up the roster, then I'd agree. But you think he should've kept turds that didn't want to play hard. Just so they could win a few more games. Long story short, you were pissed because they hired a coach you believed to be beneath the job. And no matter the situation, you're going to use results-based thinking to provide evidence for your bitching and moaning. Original act.

Youth is youth at every level, some nights they do things that make you feel like you are getting somewhere...and then other nights it looks like you never had a practice...that's how it is...at every level.

Xavier was a good game. Unfortunately that looks more like an aberration than a sign of what this team really is, based on their body of work.

I would certainly not expect an undefeated team. I would expect a team that is competitive with a team like Arizona and doesn't struggle putting away teams like Tulane, NC Central, etc. I don't think that's asking for a lot from a SEC coach in his 3rd year. I'd also expect some sort of talent upgrade in year 3. I mean, Anderson still hasn't found a guy that can consistently put the ball in the basket 3 years in. We're still starting guys like Cullen Vanleer. In year 3, that's a problem.

You expect a roster full of freshman to compete to the wire with Arizona? And we were in the game for quite a while...glimpses of good, other periods of lostness...youth.....

Did Kim Anderson forget to recruit for 3 years? Why is this team still so devoid of talent? It takes little effort to run guys off. Takes a real coach to convince good players to play for you.

Kim Anderson has very little affect on my life, and I don't believe in getting pissed about things I have no control over. I'm upset by how far Mizzou has fallen. Some of it is not Kim Anderson's fault, but some of it is. And until he proves otherwise, he is beneath the job.
And no matter the situation, you're going to use results-based thinking to provide evidence for your bitching and moaning.
You can keep repeating this if it makes you feel better. Doesn't make it any more true, but in a world where people believe what they want, I won't deny you of that pleasure.

In year 3? Yeah, I absolutely think they should compete with a fringe top 25 team. I'm less concerned by the name on the front of the opponent's jersey and more concerned by the actual makeup of the team. Arizona started 3 freshman and were with out the PAC 12 player of the year. This is not the preseason Arizona team everyone expected to compete for a final 4. Go beyond the name and actually look at the team Mizzou played.

I would agree that he is behind schedule as far as cleaning house...but the question is...is he headed in the right direction now?

I would say no. Who on the team can you build around? No one he has recruited can score. No one is a defensive stopper. No one is the leader. Even collectively I don't see the base to build on.

We are talking in circles..what impact player that would be an instant impact player would go to Mizzou right now? No one. So, they have to be developed, which takes time.
My point is that I don't see even the possibility of one or any of these players developing into that. They don't have enough talent.

You mean someone like OG Annunoby from Jefferson City. I know for a fact that Anderson told him they did not have a scholarship for him. I guess Indiana takes less talented players than Mizzou.

He got in trouble with the NCAA 8 years ago because he made too many phone calls and texts and then lied to them about it. He's kept his nose clean sense. That doesn't bother me very much.

My recollection was it was the phone calls while he was at OU. if he would have just sent texts instead of phone calls he wouldn't have been in trouble. At least as much.

I do think he would be a pretty good hire at Missouri.

In Anderson's defense he hasn't been successful but he has run a clean program and it won't be toxic for the next coach to come in like Haith left it.
