I think at the same time.What about enrollments for each school? Were they ever released?
I don't understand the reasoning behind holding the numbers, districts, classes under wraps until 2 weeks into the season. Not just for basketball, but every sport. What's the reason for that? They get the enrollment numbers in the spring, so they just sit on the info for 8 months?
They have to wait on the transfer portal to close a couple weeks into the season!HEY, it's hard work to screw EVERYTHING up...it takes time! Give MSHSAA some credit,,,,they do a good job of screwing up by taking their time doing it
The given reason is to make sure that all the small schools that say they are going to have a team in a sport actually have enough for a team before teams are assigned to a district.
Not the private schools in which I’ve worked. They wanted as many kids possible for their tuition money. Plus, the multiplier of the past, in your “scenario,” would have put them in Class 3.(Deadline looming)
private schools:
"what does it take to be in class 3?"
mshsaa:
"xx amount of kids"
private schools:
okay, we are of course one shy of xx amount of kids, so put us in class 2---yea that's the ticket"
Is there a certifying agency for private school enrollment verification?Not the private schools in which I’ve worked. They wanted as many kids possible for their tuition money. Plus, the multiplier of the past, in your “scenario,” would have put them in Class 3.
Not to my knowledge. Your point is? Bottom line, just like in a public school, is green. Not a classification. We are talking about America, after all.Is there a certifying agency for private school enrollment verification?
So they can turn in whatever they want with no loss of fundsNot to my knowledge. Your point is? Bottom line, just like in a public school, is green. Not a classification. We are talking about America, after all.
I’m sure there has to be some way to check numbers just like with public schools. I haven’t been an AD for a number of years so I don’t work that closely with administration anymore. But it sounds like you guys have years of experience working in private schools, so I’m sure you have firsthand, inside knowledge.So they can turn in whatever they want with no loss of funds
I asked a question. Dont snowflake out.I’m sure there has to be some way to check numbers just like with public schools. To my knowledge, never happened when I was there. Every few years there was talk of closing because of low enrollment.They’d never fudge numbers at SV. Ever.
