Purely a coincidence I'm sure. Nothing more left to prove? I get he's absolutely raking over the 16 games. But he's still K'd 16 times. In 16 games. At Memphis. His problem was, and apparently still is, putting the ball in play. So yeah, I think he's got that to prove. Meanwhile...Arozarena goes back down...And please, somebody free Lane Thomas.

The guys on 101FM called this a week ago. What a joke. Still not giving the other young outfielders a legit shot. Instead we move Edman and Munoz out there where they suck so we can play Carp .215.

Neither of those two suck anywhere they play. Somebody PLEASE tell me why Bader dove for the ball he caught in the 1st inning. He would have caught the ball about waist high had he just ran up to it to make the catch. Instead he dives and has to reach UP for the ball. You can't tell me that makes ANY sense.

Compared to the others, yes they both suck in the outfield. They are what is known as “infielders”.

Compared to which outfielders that we have? Fowler is average and and so is Ozuna, even though both have looked better this season than last. That is why Edman and Munoz are know as 'utility' players.

This X infinity. But hey, Bader drew three walks and got a hit last night. Maybe he's figuring it out. I sure hope so. Best case scenario is he hits enough to be in the lineup daily. Maybe Edman can continue to hit and nudge Carp out. I have zero faith Carp will make the needed adjustments now. Almost seems like it's a bat speed/aging thing with him. No longer short to the ball or inside anything. Cheating, long, and circling. He's not even close.

I remember a couple years ago when Wong was really struggling and sent down for a few days....called back up just in time for Kolton Wong Hawaiian shirt night. At the end of the day it's definitely a business and not a sport. Easy for fans like us to forget that sometime.

I remember that too. It's definitely a business. Just hate it when management makes it more about the business than the sport. It annoys me.

Yeah. It's just money when it's someone else's isn't it. :)
You're not kidding! Honestly though, sometimes I think they get too concerned with penny wise and get pound poor. And then they do things like the Yadi and Carp contracts and it drives me batcrap. It's a strange approach.

Of all the deals that have been criticized, this Carp extension may turn out to be the worst move they have ever made. He still had another year on his deal and he wasn’t going anywhere.

They talked about him when Ankiel was on tonight and when Carp yelled at the ump about a pitch was definitely strike 3. They said it seems like he has lost his keen eye for the strike zone that he has been famous for which means he just ain't seeing pitches like he used to so he not only takes strikes he fouls off pitches he used to drive.

It made no sense, especially if you were going to trade for Goldie.

Exactly. And then trading Jedd, knowing full well Carp isn't even close to being right. And knowing that Edman and/or Munoz aren't exactly Jedd level players. Just all very confusing.

???? Where were the cheerleaders for Jedd while he was with the Birds?
