Even percentage wise. I would say basketball is slightly low. I might be wrong. Basketball also doesn't do a Media All-State. Somebody with more time could figure those %

Which means it's ok for them to have more allstate players selected.
Using the Class my school is in for each sport and only using # of starting positions on the total # of players.
Baseball
85 teams x 9 starters = 765 players. 42 All-State Players (5.4%) + 16 honorable mentions (7.5%)
Football
52 teams x 22 starters = 1144 players. 78 All-State Players (6.8%)
Softball
65 teams x 9 starters = 585 players. 36 All State Players (6.1%)
Volleyball
81 teams x 6 starters = 486 players. 30 All-State players (6.1%)
Basketball
107 teams x 5 starters = 535 players. 20 All-State players (3.7%)
I'm not real bright, but it looks like Basketball is well below the average. Raising it to 30 players, 15 1st/ 15 2nd, would only raise it to 5.6% of players being recognized.
