Webb won't have any nonconfrence games after next year with Joplin joining the COC. They are playing Pittsburg KS at home for their final nonconfrence game until something changes changes with the COC

I sure never said that....I think they have huge advantages. That's why this win was even sweeter!

Lamar will miss this senior class, however many of the big play makers on offense and defense yesterday were juniors, namely #7 Cooper Lucas. We'll have to replace some leadership on the secondary and on the line, but next man up will be just fine.

Why is it when someone wins a few state championships their fans begin believing the can take on all challengers two or three classes above them. Webb City has proven you can win a game, but try playing 2/3rds of your season up at least two classes. There is a reason for the separation that goes beyond a few talented kids that can win a game.

But I am afraid most of the class 4-5 schools I see play would get real embarrassed playing Lamar.

The majority of Lamar fans have said no such things. Usually it's some loud mouth wanna be who was probably a bench warmer that spews thst crap!

Lamar already plays up all season, they have for a long time. Not as many class 4 teams since CJ left the conference. They worked for a long time and bought in completely to be able to learn to compete in that situation. It made them a better program and a dynasty in class 2. If they play up with good teams and learn what it takes to compete at that level, even if they lose, how is that a bad thing? Why should they not accept challengers who can test or beat them. Stick to playing only teams you know you can beat and you'll never get better.

Wc proved you can win more than a game. Two years ago they routed the Class 6 runner up and then routed an Ark Class 7 school,the following week. In 2014 WC played exactly one school that was class 4 in the regular season. I don't think playing Kickapoo, Joplin, and Ray-pec in 2014 would have made much difference . Granted that team was exceptional.

The teams Lamar has fielded the last few years would hold their own in the COC or Ozark conference. Most years they wouldn't have been a contender but this year they probably would have had as good a shot as anyone.

All that said, Lamar has the Class 3 champ in their conference and they went out and scheduled Valle. Sure Valle was down by their standards but that is hindsight. Lamar is trying to,test themselves against the best competition. I think a Maryville home and home would be great. Maybe a couple games with Bolivar
