Years ago at a small school I was coaching at In Pennsylvania, after a HUGE game that we lost because of an arrogant selfish young man that didnt listen to his coaching, he challenged my authority in front of the team, so I cut him immediately. He responded by throwing trash in my yard that night, on my yard, my wife and daughter.
Is there anything I should have done different.

Well you did do something else... you blackballed me. I think you did plenty.

Look i have told you before I just dumped a little on the grass, i didnt break anything or spray paint anything. It wasnt that big a deal, like you made it out to be. How did you see me anyway? I had a great hiding place behind your jeep.

Why didnt you think of Rifleman taking a knee? You wanted to put the game in Salvucci's hands in the pouring rain with seconds to go in what would have been the biggest win in Ampipe history!!!!?

Stef- Judging by your engineering degree from one of the finest engineering schools in the country, I think i MORE than made up for it, but you just didnt dump trash on me that night, son, you dumped it on my wife and my daughter.

I made the right call, and judging by my success in the NFL (using Jerry Van Dyke as a d coordinator) and what we accomplished at Minnesota, I knew what I was doing.

He was a teenager caught up in peer pressure and emotions! He had just got kicked off the team! The rat Bosko, who Stef thought was a friend, was pressuring him. What would you do in that situation?

That would have been the biggest win of my career, until we were at Minnesota State and beat West Texas in the Pineapple bowl to secure a national championship.........
Do you have any experience with ghosts or living in a haunted house? You have coached in a lot of places. Maybe on of those houses was haunted.

Off topic, but worth sharing:
I live on a secluded rural road. Trash days were on Mondays. Every Sunday night, I would take out the trash.
2/5 weeks, someone thought it would be cute to fly down the road, hit my plastic trash cans and splatter my garbage everywhere. I initially thought it was a mistake, but knew better after the second incident. Being that my driveway is long, I'd never hear when this occurred.
I could have just waited and taken the trash out before I left for work, but there was principal involved.
I spent a couple of hours the next Sunday drilling holes into the bottom of one can, spiking re bar through it and deep into the ground. I then filled it will concrete and opened cans of paint.
The next morning, the Guy lost all kinds of car pieces, headlight bits, you name it.
Problem solved.
That. Is. EPIC!! I bet Stef is glad the Coach Nickerson didn't fill his trash can with stuff to spill or blow up all over anyone who tried to dump it out! Did anything come of this? Police involved, guy coming to your door, you talking to the guy, etc? Was it teens pulling teenage shenanigans?

That is the best story!!! I love your extreme work ethic!

Oh ya? Well had you not been a frightened little coward, you would have done more and we would have all split!! You woulda never been caught! I gave you a ride! Then you have the audacity to come and disrupt my pool game??

Look. We should have never been there. I know that. I knew it then. I was just mad and a little tanked.

Did your buddy at the mill tell you my message? Thank goodness i have "seen you around" because that would mean i was stuck in Ampipe in a dead end job...

Stef -- you know i am always on your side and we will be teammates for life and i know we all hate Bosko for what he did to you and coaches house and bad mouthing the team after the Walnut Heights game, but we never thought Bosko was not a bad guy when he would show up to school to walk the halls and give high fives, or when he would pick us up in the rain to get to school on time. I actually like the guy when he would buy us beer and his pep rally speeches actaully got me alittle amped up.

With a guy in his position, with his expectations, and he availability to the players, it wasnt going to end well period. Maybe we beat Walnut Heights that night... then it would be the next game he blows up or the next year... Nothing was ever going to be good enough for him.

Thank goodness i got to go to West Virginia. I got to play ball. Did i ever tell you guys that i always wanted to go to WVU and am still proud of that today! Go Bulldogs, Go Mountaineers!

You Ampipe guys think youre something real special. With your scholarships and college educations. Well don't forget where you came from. I was always there to lend a helping hand. Was I a little too involved? Sure! But that was boosters do. They did it when I was am Ampipe player and it still happens. You play football for Ampipe, then work the mills.
