Home of the Cubs!!
Rich just get richer and abuse the little people. This is going to back fire in the end.

Deyshia Hargrave couldn't believe her Louisiana school district's superintendent was slated to get a raise while teachers like herself struggled. So she spoke up at a school board meeting.

"You're making our job even more difficult," she told the Vermilion Parish school board, according to video from CNN affiliate KATC.
"A superintendent or any person in a position of leadership getting any type of raise, I feel like it's a slap in the face to all the teachers, cafeteria workers, and any other support staff we have."
Hargrave was called on twice during the public session of the school board's meeting. But KATV video shows that as she continued sharing her concerns, a city marshal hired by the school district escorted Hargrave out and handcuffed her in a hallway.

The video shows Hargrave screaming, "What are you doing?" at the marshal.

But school board member Laura LeBeouf expressed dismay after Hargrave was taken away.
"What happened here tonight -- the way that females are treated in Vermilion Parish ... I have never seen a man removed from this room," LeBeouf said.
Ike Funderburk, Abbeville's city attorney and prosecutor, told KATC he won't be prosecuting the teacher.
"I have reviewed the video and I am not going to approve any charges against the teacher," Funderburk said. "I talked with the attorney for the school board, and they do not wish to pursue any charges against the teacher."
The school board ended up approving the raise for Superintendent Jerome Puyau, whose salary increased from $110,190 to $140,188, KATC reports.
In a statement, Louisiana Association of Educators President Debbie Meaux denounced the way Hargrave was treated at the meeting.

School board Presiden Anthony Rontana thought it was handle correctly LOL.

I figured you for the type that would support the administration Duck. Teachers need to be paid, Superintendent pay is like CEO pay now days way out of line.

Are you on drugs or just clueless? Real leaders wouldnt take that raise unless the teachers are getting a significant one.

Hello???

Do liberals not understand SARCASM???

LOL, Eagle, oh I knew what he was doing I just love messing with the Duck. I posted something I thought alot of us could find common ground on and have a good debate and Duck just had to be Duck. So I had to give him the business back.

By the way I am not Liberal, but not conservative either. I consider myself independent. I don't need to be affiliated to a party or their ideas, I was raised to think for myself be my own man!!

Superintend pay is getting outrages, along with now you see school districts also paying those same wages to Assistant Superintendents. Crazy.

And their pensions. There should be a cap on pensions. And I am in the pension plan.
A super making $200,000 plus does not need 70+ percent of that for his pension.

I agree Duck. I am proud of my Daughter she is going into teaching is excited to start student teaching next year. I come from a long line of teachers and well some administrators.

I am glad teachers can make a decent retirement after 25 years, but currently the system we have is encouraging good teachers who still have alot to offer to leave the classroom early either by double dipping or moving to administration. We need to figure out how to keep those teachers in the classrooms?
