Using C3/D4, for example, in the District Semi-final games tonight:

(Seed, Team)
#1 Reeds Spring hosts #4 Mt. Vernon
#2 Monett hosts #3 Cassville

SCENARIO: Supposing #1 Reeds Spring defeats #4 Mt. Vernon and #3 Cassville defeats #2 Monett. In the regular season, Cassville defeated Reeds Spring. Where would the district championship game between Reeds Spring and Cassville be played?

Does the ‘Automatic Switch’ option go into play or is that only for Round 1 seeding purposes? Or, is the rule disallowed because the seeding is not consecutive (#1 and #3)?

The Automatic Switch rule needs better clarification, IMO. If I’m reading it correctly, then the teams that win tonight will dictate the location of the championship game purely by their Round 1 seeding placement.

We know that should Cassville lose and Reeds Spring win, then the championship game would be held at Reeds Spring (vs. Monett). We also know that should Cassville lose and Mt. Vernon win, then the championship game would be held in Monett. So…

--A Monett win (and a Reeds Spring win) sees Monett going to Reeds Spring next week.
--A Mt. Vernon win and a Monett win sees the game at Monett.
--A Mt. Vernon win and a Cassville win sees the game at Cassville.
--A Reeds Spring win and a Cassville win sees the game at Reeds Spring…correct? (Remember, Cassville beat Reeds Spring in the regular season.)

I interpret as if Reeds Spring wins tonight, they get the championship game at home. Correct or not?

The automatic switch does need better clarification though. If Neosho had beaten Carthage in week 9 then the top 3 teams in points would have been as follows.

1. Carthage
2. Neosho
3. Nixa

However, Nixa beat Neosho head-to-head and Neosho would have beaten Carthage head-to-head, but Carthage also beat Nixa head-to-head. Would Nixa jump Neosho or would Neosho jump Carthage in that scenario?

I believe the automatic switch only factors into how the teams are seeded.
Then once the seeds are set, whoever is seeded higher gets to host.

Yes Reeds Spring would have hosted had they won. However they lost so Mt Vernon will travel to Monett
