would save thousands of lives then we could have saved millions over the years with a nationwide mask mandate to protect against the flu and other illness. Why didn't anyone ever propose this? Literally no one. Brilliant.
Thank you.Distance fix please speak with facts. Conjecture not a substitute for fact. AC 100 is speaking in fact. It is not in the president’s power to do so. Hopefully you’re using satire with what you said. The CDC has bounced around wearing a mask, not wearing a mask issue for months.
The same people that won't enforce crossing the border illegally, want mandatory masks.Because the President doesn't have the power to do this. It would also politicize the issue more than it already is. How would you even enforce it??
Influenza and coronaviruses are different families of viruses and completely unrelated.
There is a vaccine for influenza.
There are effective oral antiviral agents available for outpatient treatment of mild-moderate flu cases.
The R0 for flu is 1.2; it's at least 2.4 for COVID.
The Case Fatality Rate (CFR) for flu is 0.1%. The CFR for COVID is 3.1% in the US (3.7% worldwide).
Long-term complications of COVID in those who have recovered aren't fully known, but already include pulmonary fibrosis, myocarditis, pulmonary emboli and stroke.
While the flu tragically claims tens of thousands of lives each year, more people have died from COVID in just the last 5 months (170,000) than any other 5-month period in US history including the civil war and WWII. (And according to the CDC, the COVID CFR is actually underreported by 30%).
Comparisons between the flu and COVID simply reflect a poor understanding of science.
What else is there to compare it too?Influenza and coronaviruses are different families of viruses and completely unrelated.

Viet-freakin-nam!What else is there to compare it too?
Death with flu has never been counted like death with Covid is being counted. Despite that the death rate with Covid in our youth is still lower than that with flu. Until Covid came, death certificates of the virus infected did not name the virus, only the condition (Copd, heart failure, etc). To compare the the flu count of died from to the Covid count of died with is apples and oranges.Influenza and coronaviruses are different families of viruses and completely unrelated.

A doctor I saw today said the likely number of covid deaths in the USA is over 200,000.
A doctor I saw today said that the likely number of covid deaths in the USA is actually under 50,000.... granted, it was the Rug Doctor I was talking to.. They might not be qualified, but they're screamin' mad at dirt.
Amazing how news can be debunked but people still refer to it because it verifies what the person wants to believe. This happens on both sides.Florida, who fired the lady in charge of tracking this information because she wouldn’t rig the numbers, has had hundreds more causes of death listed as “pneumonia” this year than they have ever had. Why do you think that is? Bahahahahaha
A doctor I saw today said the likely number of covid deaths in the USA is over 200,000.
No turtles were killed in the making of this post.
Nothing to see here...move along. This was as of the end of May for Florida
The totals for pneumonia deaths are:
2014-2015 5510
2015-2016 5214
2016-2017 5540
2017-2018 5792
2018-2019 5374
2019-2020 6772

Sorry card. My laptop connection skips sometimes moving my cursor. I literally didn't know I had posted on the football page until now.
At any rate, 330 million people must wear a mask outside. This includes people that live in SD that have a population density of 1/2 of person per 50 square miles. If this were Rep. it would be fascistic, Dems it's virtuous. Out of an abundance of caution I always wear a mask.
I'm leaving now and returning to the ugly side of mosports. Cheers.
Good lord we need the Doc Guys now more than everBegone, foul dwimmerlaik, lord of carrion!

Then they will complain about moving football to the spring.
Send all the people with the flue to nursing homes and see what happens to the fatality rates. Pay people who die with the flue for funeral services and see how many more flue deaths there are. Its sll about beating Trump.Influenza and coronaviruses are different families of viruses and completely unrelated.
