Maryville defeats Savannah 28-14 in Hound Pound for 64th straight home win.

Do you think that #68 will be a challenge

I think it's going be a closer game then most people think. Lathrop makes alot of big yardage plays. Maryville discipline on defense does not give up alot of big plays. So we will see what happens.

Lathrop, I would think, needs controlled possessions in that game. Eat some clock. Best way to hang around in that harsh environment.

How many other class 1 programs can we list that have field turf? Their program got on the upswing with the installation of the turf.
Their turf has been there from the starting of football. That first season was one that saw them get in over their heads and get turbo clocked several times as a varsity team, to going back to JV schedule a few more years until their young kids were older and physically ready to compete, and then back 11 man varsity and playing great football. Has nothing to do with the turf, but the great athletic kids with parental support that has them playing well.

Turf makes kids play better?

I don't know. It does accentuate speed, you don't lose as many practice days to weather and I would say most of their opponents don't get to practice on turf before they play there. Other than that I can't say. It was just an anecdotal observation on my part as I didn't realize they had turf when the program started. When I became aware of it was when they started winning.

From what I’ve heard they practice on a grass field
