#6 Carthage 42 #9 Carl Junction 18 - Final

i heard CJ had a couple kids quit last week after the Webb game, possibly a starter.... Hate to see kids quitting any program, I'm sure they will regret it later on down the road. Buck wasn't exactly mean in his comments in the Globe, he didn't name names... but they weren't great either, saying basically they weren't practicing hard enough. Most coaches would say that was his fault for not preparing them, not the kids' fault. He also didn't give any credit to WC, it wasn't like they were playing some game that they would have normally won. WC had a little something to do with their loss in my opinion.

I don't know or have heard of anybody who has quit. Maybe that's an exaggeration of the fact 2 players missed team meetings/practice (with coaches' permission). I don't know. Nobody ever discredits WC--defending champions. Anyone who watches CJ can figure out they're not using players to their strengths--feels like they're set up to fail early in game. Things didn't seem to change in the Carthage game. I don't know about defense anymore. If things don't change at Republic--most likely another loss. I don't think it will matter who they play! Buckmaster can't use that excuse after the Carthage game. Just my opinion, CJ can practice as hard he wants, but until the coaches change game plans to fit his players (they do have talent) things won't get better (just easier schedule).
I know of a Senior who was still going to play JV this year who quit in July...but that is all.
