Carthage defense pretty strong and keeping them in the game after getting burned early. Offense really struggling to finish without Sap and Mueller.
Can anyone tell me why the 5 yard out is in anyone’s playbook? The risk reward is terrible. This may have cost Carthage the game!
Gutsy effort by Carthage as Carlton ran all over the Webb City defense, but Carthage failed to finish drives. Defense answered the call after giving up 2 early scores
Almost all over. Those last few yards by the goal line are tricky.
I was very impressed by Carthage though.
Carthage ran 70 plays to Webb's 34. Carthage outgained them by 100 yds. Webb just made more plays when it mattered
Carthage physically whipped us at the line of scrimmage. We were fortunate to win.

Didn't watch that much had to many people wanting to talk. Won't lie I'm usually a crappy conversationist at games. I actually go to watch not talk to people... Whst I did take from it though after the first score WEBB kind of exhaled.. Think the Branson game kind of had them doubting then boom 3 plays pretty easy I think they just exhaled and lost a little edge. Defense played alright I thought. Offense besides the one half back pass was pretty vanilla and the goal line stand was awesome with a swarming D.. cTOWNS QB picked up some decent yards but had a ton of carrys and the last TD was just one of those goofy bouncing around balls that fell right.. cTOWN is going to have to get some more kids out for Football to make a deep run in Class 5. Just don't think they have the numbers to go very deep with that many lineman going both ways..
I agree from a pure numbers standpoint ....that being said ...they controlled this game ...just didn't have big plays like Webb . They seemed to control the Los basically all night
Was we at the same game? You must of tailgating a little hard. Cause that’s not the game I watched. Other than the first drive Webb did nothing on offense. The next best drive was the last one. Carthage settled in and out played wEBB. wEBB defense came up big when the had to!
Does the semis qualify for deep ? I doubt Carthage plays anyone that stays within 4-5 Tds until they meet someone like Vianney in the semis.
Carthage has had more skilled teams but they are very good up front. A team like Staley thst cab throw downfield might expose them but they are tough to run on.
So exactly what part are you disagreeing with? WEBB went 35 yard run 13 yard pass 30 or so yard pass TD!!! WEBBs offense was vanilla, the D gave up 12 points 6 on cTOWNS last possession on a ball tipped liked 3 times.. Where was my statement wrong. Should it have said cARRHAGE killed WEBB and ran all over them!!! 12 points. Pretty sure same game. Hell its not like I said something bad against cTOWN..

That's vanilla! Didn't have to go to something and try trick plays etc. ran what we run, vanilla!!
Admittedly not seen a lot of WC football but have attended several over the years. this O line for WC may be the least impressive I've ever seen. Not able to get the push at the Los to get the 2 or 3 yards minimum they always seem to get in the past.
Carthage controlled this game. They we're better up front tonight . Webb did what they do....win despite that but if you break down the stastics ...Carthage won every aspect of this game except the score . I couldn't be happier but I'm a realist and I feel like we stole this game
I think WC was down 1-2 starters tonight but I think a lot had to do with the Carthage defensive front tonight. Yards on the ground were tough to come by tonight.
Someone posted earlier we had two starting lineman out. Not sure if that's right or not. Frog or Hitch may know. We definately aren't gifted with monsters this year but I don't think are numbers are as bad as some seem to be saying. How many turnovers did we have? 2-3? Take the QB out and our D gave up very little yardage and although a backup in the other 3 page post about this game someone says this kid is the better of the two..interested in final box score numbers don't think they are much of a mismatch.,,

After the first quarter jitters I thought carthage more or less controlled the game but unable to capitalize due to just a few but very costly mistakes. Throwing a pick 6 when run is working really well. The shotgun fumble on the goal line...ouch. Maybe I'm crazy but I kind of think with Sap and Mueller the tigers would have owned this game in convincing fashion but we'll never know.
Webb's offense looked pretty....meh. Or credit solid tiger defense. Webb D on the other hand was truly outstanding. I was really impressed with how fast they got to the ball and always seemed to have someone in perfect position to put a stop to a big play before it could get loose. Carthage was getting good chunks of yards often with ease but just could never get anything huge.
Roderique was pretty fired up about that late hit his player committed.
In the end webb did what they do, found a way to win forcing other team to make mistakes!

LOL, okay so my statement should have said yadda yada yada but only because we faced back ups!! As I said nothing in my statement is wrong, so I was definately at the same game as Jam..Didn't say anything negative except I don't like convos at games but since its going this way... I've never seen a game where a team only turned the ball over three times while recovering two turnovers themselves and "ran all over somebody" yet only scored twice...WEBB scored two TDs in two possessions in 4 plays to start the game, they exhaled.....
Damn I'd say. 60 for 290 is crazy I figured a hundred and a half but two ninety.
Where did you get the stats? Hitch's post above says cTOWN only ran 70 total plays..
Webb didn’t rush for close to 322 yards. Henderson had 96 yards weathers chipped in 34 and I’d say Beardon had a few less than the latter.
Those numbers are not even close to being correct. Get you a copy of the paper tomorrow.
I think everything got doubled in the statline because they're all even numbers. He probably had 30 carries for 145.
