A lot of time left for sure. Not so fast, my friend, Kearney scores a TD and recovers an onside kick. 35-13, Bulldogs are on the move with under 2:00 to go in the 2Q.
Four of them. Go back to my synopsis of that belton game plus the slow starts.Dang, didn't see this one coming at all. Looks like turnovers have killed Kearney.
Had they got the late half td it was out of bounds by a smidge thus would be interesting. Smithville blew a 27 pt half lead vs Platte county a few years and k does score in spurts plus has been excellent after half. I am at this oneA lot of time left for sure.
Im back home now off to the scoreboard etcFour of them. Go back to my synopsis of that belton game plus the slow starts.
Smithville was not to be stopped and k came out like a team that had never been there done that. Amazing season regardless!Rooting for Nixa in 6, Carthage in 5 and Kearney and West Plains in 4.
Gonna be interested in his take on tonight. I "think" everyone saw this one pretty much the same as I did, though. As stated in the original thread these close looking rematches often break one way or the other. Kearney was just flat not prepared for the higher intensity of these playoffs and beating Smithville took a smidge of edge off them BUT many have also pointed to the long stretch of overmatch games. Smithville, as I also pointed out, handled them like business. Kearney will be THE team in this area next year will be very interesting to see what all those returning Juniors learn in particular.Yes I’m going to be that guy…
Smithville is going to have a hell of a track season, just ask Joey

Back to inexperience. They just flat weren't ready for high end playoff intensity. I bet the farm we never see anything like this next year. Again a very educational event. As I also stated back after they beat Smithville Week 3 now they have to handle SUCCESS. Much, much harder to do than it appears.three games of turnovers and sloppy play to finish the season. Underclassmen
