The season will be here before we know it. What teams should be at the top this year in each class based on the class they were in last year? Who’s close to moving up or down? Who are some key returning players?

I think Nixa makes the Final 4 this year. Also believe Grant will be a breakout player. That may not be much of a surprise though considering she was 2nd team COC and didn't even start last year.

Thayer will be the best girls team in SCA. Liberty will be solid. After that who knows. Teams lost a lot.

Kylie Scott from CJ is getting low and mid major D1 offers. The issue the team has no guards.

Poo, Nixa, Strafford, Fair Grove, Walnut Grove, Rolla, West Plains, Skyline will all still be really good, relative to their respective school sizes.

Ava, Carl Junction, Mansfield, ELDO, Republic are among the teams that will drop off to varying degrees.

Ava and Mansfield are going to drop wayyy off.

Skyline is a team I would definitely keep an eye on. I saw them this summer. They are athletic and can guard the crap out of people. They will be a tough night for everyone they play.

2/1 Skyline at Fair Grove may be worth checking out.

How about the teams like Strafford, Licking, South Iron, Chadwick? They are usually in the conversation?

If Chadwick returns most of what they had last year they will obviously be good again, but I know little about them without researching it

Strafford (who I mentioned) and Licking are always good

Don’t know much about South Iron.

I left out Marshfield, they return a lot and will be really good

Didnt Marshfield get some of the Strafford talent?

Thought I heard that.

Central Missouri has its normal cast of characters.

Class 6 is Battle and Hickman are strong challengers to RB. JC takes a step back without Lithicum.

Class 5 is Rolla followed by Helias.

Class 4 is loaded with California, St James, Owensville, and Fatima. I think Southern Boone will find their way but they graduated a lot. A dark horse is Centralia. I think they win a district.

Class 3 is Montgomery County and everyone else. Tolton will sneak up on people this year. New coach and some good young talent.

Class 2 is Tipton.

Who is the new coach at Tolton?

Do they have a Porter girl on their team?

Nobody talking about Miller this year?

Good call. The young Miller squad will be very good. Don’t know if they will be class 2 or 3 but either way they could make the final four
They will be Class 2. Their enrollment actually dropped to 138. Cutoff should be around 155. Miller has 3 good Sophomore's and that's it. I think they will struggle at times this year.

At Class two that's all you really need, 3 really good players. They went 25-5 last season and should come close to that again I would think, depends on how the girls do that step in for the two primary seniors last yr

Saw the Ozarks Preview cover picture with Nitwit Ned. How in the heck do you have that without Hurd from Waynesville? Best player in SW Missouri by a big margin.

Maybe she declined? I can't imagine another reason.

I'm not sure they got any of the top 10 boys players on the cover unless they were only getting kids from small schools.
There’s one D1 boy, 2 D2 boys. And a bunch that are getting walk-on offers from NAIA or nothing at all. Insanity.

who are the boys that deserve a spot on there? The Thayer boy on there can flat play. The Liberty kid is a great shooter.

Oh for sure, a couple of those kids can really play and are deserving and I love the small class kids getting recognized. However, you can't claim to have the best players if you don't have kids from the COC and OC represented. Some of those kids pictured would be role players at best at the top teams from the COC and OC. As far as who I would list, there are several, but I would start by looking at All COC and ALL OC returners from last year.

Thayer (Burns) Liberty (Gaines, the only D1 kid) and Ash Grove (Nicholson) deserve to be there.

Considering they give them away and its paid for by people advertising in them I'm pretty sure that's not it. I believe every one of them was all-state as a junior. I honestly don't know are there returning kids that are all-state at larger schools. There is also a nomination process where coaches nominate their playes for the cover and it is possible some other deserving players weren't nominated by their coaches.

Gaines is a D1 kid? I know he is good. But I dont know that he has the size to be D1
Just a quick search showed me that he’s a 5’8 PG that plays for Yanders Law or did, and I believe he’s verbal to Austin Peay? Could be wrong. That’s just according to the internet.

You’ll get a crack out of this, that article mentioned, “he attends Liberty High”, but mentioned him as “congrats to Gaines from West Plains” 🤣🤣🤣

That’s not verbatim, just for the record

lol thats pretty good.

Maybe he is good enough to play at a lower level D1 school. The kid can flat shoot and score. But man he is tiny.

Yeah—he’s from WP, his mom teaches at Liberty.

He’s a AP commit. Had some other D1 offers.
