2020 Class Breakdown With "Success Factor"

Having coached in class 1 with a 9 to 11 enrollment of 115 and coached in class 4 with 900 it makes more sense to make class 1 the catch all if you want to keep smaller school in 11 man,. Otherwise 5 yrs down the road another 10 to 15 school will be in 8 man. Back in my day class 1 was capped at 200 enrollment 9 thru 12, class 2 was 200 to 475. It is a mess, but I guess it depends on your goals. Seems a bit ridiculous to give biggest schools with the most depth the shortest playoff arrangement. Just my opinion.

This is an excellent point

MSHSAA Communications Director Jason West said...

"If a non-public school moves up a class it won’t mean another school moves down. It would just make one class one school bigger and another one school smaller."

-The only adjustments that will be made for unisex schools. Those that are single sex will still be doubled and that number will be used as their raw enrollment to determine where their starting base is.”

Article says doubled. It's posters that are confusing 1.35 for single gender.

Copied from other thread. Several Jason West quotes in this ozone article.
Thanks for posting that article. I thought the success factor multiplier thing applied to all schools, not just non-public schools. Cleared that right up!
