2 games in one day?

How often does this happen outside of a tournament? I've seen it happen once.

I was looking at Festus. STL today reported a score of a game played this morning at Alton, Featus vs. Jerseyville then Featus has a home game tonight against Union. Is this accurate?

Just found out from the Festus high school webpage, this is correct. The morning game they had today was rescheduled from a previous weather delay. They won and they do play at home tonight. That's different

So the 6 quarters a day rule doesn't apply in a case like this?

You have to get special permission from MSHSAA before you play 2 games in a day.

MSHSAA rules allow you to play 2 games a day when school is not in session.
Haven't seen it done in a while. Mehlvllle Boys JV Tournament used to play 2 games on a Saturday.
Farmington girls and boys tournament did it on the Saturday of the ice storm of 2006.

Farmington tournament is the only other time I seen it. I remember the St. James. Ohs team playing 2 games on Saturday of that tournament

Stover Tournament did it one year with all semi final games then the 3rd and championships later that evening a few years back.

shouldnt be an issue, most of the kids play that way coming up through youth ball if they do any travel ball
