1-4 Blowouts, Is there a fix?

the answer is 32 two team districts. That way only 1-2 seeds make the “playoffs”.
Why not 64 one team districts? Then everyone can be a district champion AND make the "playoffs".
My Carl Junction Bulldogs would still be without a district championship, even in those years when they were top 10 (Or top 5) in the state.

Does there need to be a fix? I’m not sure I’m seeing a problem. I’m seeing life lessons and those are just the natural benefit of athletic competition. Ass kickings are just part of the reality of the situation. Typically it works itself out by the time you get closer to the end but given the arbitrary nature of dividing lines, you’re always going to have potential for mismatches at any point in the process.
I like the basic simplicity and purity of the current elimination format utilizing geographic districts. I don’t even care about the complicated ranking formula, it’s better than drawing out of a hat and even that wouldn’t bother me. The only way to eliminate the ass kickings would be to subjectivity tell teams you don’t deserve the chance to prove it on the field. I prefer to allow things to play out on the field, whether that be a great game or an ass whooping. That’s what you sign up for when you play the sport.
