Where is all the St. Louis Talent at Mizzou?

First Team Starting Line-up of Missouri players at Mizzou

4 from KC
1 from St. Louis
1 from Webb City

Webb CITY has all of St. Louis tied! Bahaha

And the myth is cracking, one fact at a time.

Kevin Pendleton OG Lee's Summit (Kansas City)
Trysten Castillo OL, Webb City
Drew Lock QB Lee's Summit (Kansas City)
Kendall Blanton TE, Blue Springs (Kansas City)
Cale Garrett LB Kearney, MO (Kansas City)

Cam Hilton Webster Groves (St. Louis)

Think I've got the Public/Private issue fixed.

Now that MSHSAA is checking enrollment every year, it wouldn't be that hard to pull this off.

If a team (public or private) has 5 or more kids with a verified NCAA D1 offer on July 1st of the season, they are placed in Class 6.

This wouldn't affect a majority of teams, including most private schools in any given year, but it solves the recruiting issue. If a team wants to stockpile talent fine, have 25 D1 kids at a school with 150 boys in it. You just have to actually work for your postseason success.

Ultimately that benefits everyone. Those scholarships that some on here want to pound their chests about won't have a shadow of a doubt as to how they were earned. No one will be able to say they only look good because they're beating up on teams that cant match up athletically.

The kids themselves benefit because college competition won't be as big a shock. Yeah I know they go to exposure camps and stuff, but football in shorts is different than actually playing. Who does the athletes at Trinity, Lutheran North, and Cardinal Ritter benefit from playing more? Grandview and Carnahan or CBC, Vianney, and Kirkwood?

Army v Navy game

This is what football should always be. Two teams playing for love of the game and tremendous pride. It's what the game was before the influence of massive amounts of money at the pro and college level turned into another business. We also forget or overlook just how special academically each one of these players are. THE best game each year.

MSHSAA Eligibility Rules

I'll give you a first hand experience of a situation and MSHSAA's eligibility rules. This is a true story.

A foreign exchange student from Germany came to a public high school and wanted to play football. He had played American football in Germany at his school over there. He was a pretty decent player and was was seen as a kid that could fight for a spot on defense as a linebacker at the beginning of summer and would have definitely helped this particular team on special teams. Fast forward a couple of weeks and MSHSAA denied his eligibility to play varsity athletics because he had played, what they determined as, "varsity" athletics in Germany and would have to sit out a year (from varsity). A foreign exchange student trying to further himself academically.

I am not sure how much sense that makes and maybe that is the exact thing they would deny, but when you compare it to what is currently happening across the state with transfers and being immediately eligible astonishes me. There is so much gray area and loopholes for some situations yet a good kid from Germany flying across the world to live with a family he has never met and further his education is denied.

What are your thoughts on this?

Colquitt County

Message below from Superintendent Doug Howell:

The 7A State Championship Football Game has been moved from Saturday, December 8th to Wednesday, December 12th at 8:00 p.m. This move was directed by the Georgia High School Association when it became apparent that the Atlanta United Soccer team had earned the right to host a championship soccer game on December 8th at Mercedes Benz Stadium.

There are many logistical, transportation, and personnel issues involved with playing the championship game on Wednesday, December 12th. The logistical issues involve transporting the team, coaches, band, and cheerleaders safely to Atlanta on a week day when traffic is already maxed out because of it being a work day, rush hour, etc. The transportation issues revolve around taking twelve buses and drivers to Atlanta on a school day (Wednesday) and not returning until early in the morning on Thursday. Drivers would not be able to drive a school route on Thursday morning. Personnel issues involve many school employees wanting to take a personal day and go to the game. There are not enough teacher substitutes to cover regular expected absences and for those teachers/employees who would choose to go the game.

This is a situation that the teams involved did not create. We will do what is best for our students, employees, and parents. The team, coaches, band, and cheerleaders will most definitely go to Atlanta on December 12th and compete for a State Championship in 7A Football. The Packer Football team deserves the support of the many fans who can make the trip and the fans who will watch on TV. The team and coaches have worked extremely long and hard and deserve to be supported. School system parents and employees who have children/students involved in the game should have the opportunity to support them at the game.

Therefore, I have made the decision to close the Colquitt County School System on Wednesday, December 12th and Thursday, December 13th. This decision was based on allowing our employees the opportunity to go support their children/students and the fact that we do not have enough bus drivers to safely cover all routes if we tried to stay open.

Go Packers!!

Bring the Championship Home!!

Superintendent

Its not just MoSports

its not just MoSports who irrationally hate on Trinity and Cardinal Ritter. The Losing, jealous coaches of Class 3 are also likeminded. Looking at the All-State 1st Teams, Trinity & Ritter combined only have 4 1st teamers. Which is hilarious because Trinity alone would beat the Class 3 All-State 1st/2nd/3rd teams if they made up One team.

Class 2: Blair Oaks & Lathrop 10 first teamers.

Class 3: Trinity/CR 4 LOL (Maryville & Mt Vernon gets 7 and both got choked out)

Class 4: Ladue & MICDS gets 12

Class 5: Vianney & Fort Osage gets 9

Class 6: CBC & Rockhurts gets 11.

Hopefully the AP All State teams get it right. The coaches, as FBForLife would say, are still butt hurt

CBC, Trinity and Cardinal Ritter

The end of the game, which I personally thought was classless, between CR and Trinity was brought up on another thread. This game and the game CBC played against Joplin were the only times I saw them play. I admit up front, this is a sample of 1 each. What stuck out to me was those teams all displayed the worst sportsmanship I witnessed all year. Maybe these were all anomalies? Just struck me as hypocritical that these three are supposed Christian schools.
Below is a portion of the statement from the CRCP Web Page. CBC and Trinity probably have something similar. Maybe what I witnessed were “one-offs”? I hope so. Or maybe respect, honor and dignity are words they like to say?

A fundamental element of the CRCP preparation includes the basic understanding that all life is to be honored and respected, as well as the dignity of fellow human beings.
We understand that our students are “young people” on a journey to developing skills needed to become responsible adults. Nonetheless, we insist on a constant commitment to the pursuit of excellence in all aspects of their lives.

Games get chippy. They are kids. We all screw up from time to time. I get all thoae excuses. Just curious if anyone else had the same observation?

Just think if St. Pius X in KC decided to go the Trinity, LN, or Rock route?

They were just 6-5 in Class 3 this year. But what if they brought in a recruiter and floated some "scholarships"? They are right off I29, and have a population of 1.5 million within a 25 minutes in-all-directions perimeter. They could hit Wyandotte, Schagle, and Harmon in KCK, the Park Hills, and all of NKC. They could hit inner city KC hard, and even go as far as Liberty and East to Blue Springs. They probably have too much integrity for that.
