MSHSAA has announced BIG changes to the 24-25 season

Seems like MSHSAA got tired of the complaining and decided to make some changes. With the major one being:

  • Decreasing the amount of Classes from six to two (One for public schools, one for privates regardless of enrollment).

The small rural public schools will finally get their wishes to separate public from private, however STILL don't stand a chance. The next complaint and suggestion will be...

"We need to separate city schools from rural schools. The city with all of their high paying jobs and educational resources are stealing families and athletes from rural Missouri and offering Free tuition to All-Star football players".

🤣

[UPDATED] A few COC Stats

Though I would look at some numbers from the COC and see if anything interesting stuck out. Nixa on paper is considerably better than anyone else. They are solid on both offense AND defense. Joplin in spite of being only 2pts behind Nixa on offense, has a defense that is essentially a tie for second worst. Carthage has not averaged as much offense as Webb City but has won their games by a slightly wider margin. Neosho...man those kids are having a hard time in wildcat country.

Of course this is only based on a partial season (and a weird one) so not everyone has played the same teams or strength of schedule.

Anybody else still undecided or uneasy about who they are voting for in the upcoming election?

Man just when I think I see myself voting this way....something stupid happens. And when I tell people I know that I am undecided both sides are equally hateful, and that turns me off more to their candidate. Sorry to me this is like eating a SH*# sandwich and trying to decide between ruffled or non-ruffled potato chips.
I lean conservative on many issues but find it hard to vote Trump not because of his policies but because of how he carries himself and the way many others in the party act. I always ask myself is this the sort of man I would want to work for or leading my company and the answer is usually no....but to that he has tried to do what he said he would do? Also I know that Trump and the Senate have every right to move forward with the nomination and confirmation on the Supreme court. But to me they are all going against their word no matter how they try to spin and rationalize it, and that turns me off, In fact before this I would be more likely to Vote republican if they would hold off until after the election show me you are good for you word, I want people who I know I can count on when they give me their word and not change that when it benefits them, that worries me about their overall principles...WWJD?

However I find it hard to support Biden because well I lean conservative, and looking at his track record he has screwed the middle class many times in his 47 years in office well he was a senator for Delaware after all the corporate headquarter capital. I would say he is personally responsible for the student debt crisis that affects many parents and college students today, by making it easier for students and parents to take out loans, and then when people started having issues paying those loans back he made it impossible to discharge those student loans, birthing a predatory student loan industry. There are many other things that he supports that I have issues with...but really it is like putting weights on a scale, I find one thing I hate about Biden and I will find something about Trump.

So here I am undecided....trying to figure out which side I want with my $%^& sandwich....

Thoughts on the JC / Helias game...

Great crowd and atmosphere tonight. Probably the largest crowd I've seen at Adkins in at least 10 years. Final score was much closer than most thought it would be, but I attribute most of that to 5 Helias turnovers. Helias defense is as good as advertised. The score was only 14-0 early in the 4th quarter, but you pretty well knew it was over due to the really poor play of the JC offense. Only 15 yards total offense in the first half. Even with the 5 turnovers they got they still could not score. To me, that was the story of the game. Hopefully in the next few years this game will be more competitive on both sides of the ball. Unfortunately, I'm not too optimistic about that as Helias has really good sub-varsity teams and JC, well, let's say their sub-varsity teams are a work in progress.

Jackson hasn’t played anybody

So the common claim to discredit the Jackson Indians seems to be the fact that they don’t play any stiff competition. Thankfully, they’ve finally been able to pick up a very tough team in the #8 ranked class six Fox Warriors.

Despite some early back and forth blows, Jackson wins in running clock fashion 59-21 after two long pick sixes. So, what’s the claim now? Are you just gonna stick to your claims that southwest football is just “better”? Or was Fox just not real? This squad will go unscathed to state.

A thought...whaddya think?

With the virus looming over this season and shutting down games, what if MSHAA shortened the season by letting every team get their rivalry game in now or next week and then starting the playoffs? I realize this would have ad to be put in motion a little earlier than today. On a lighter note the last few games wouldn't be as cold.
