I Voted & Now So Should We!!!

Thats right, I got my slightly overweight @$$ out of bed at 4:30 AM and was second in line!!! Its election day and I say we hold our very own, Doc Guy election of epic proportions!!! My nominations for voting are:

  1. Rawmeat2 - The dude is witty and has a great like to post count ratio! What else needs to be said!? Way better poster than the number 2 poster on my list.
  2. Rawmeat - Every time we vote and he doesn't get in, it just gets more hilarious.
  3. Mofan79 - This poster has worked hard and diligently to get his like count above his post count. Work like that cannot go unnoticed!
  4. Arcola - Sure, he makes fun of me and likes to air grievances when I'm not around but he posts a solid GIF! If its one thing we Doc Guys enjoy, its a good GIF!
  5. Mrs. Bosko - A nomination from Bobby.
Other Doc Guys can nominate who they wish. Do I have a second on this vote!?!?

My 2021 HSFB attendance schedule

Always, of course, subject to change based on how things actually turn out BUT here are my plans as of today:

Week 1: Raytown at North Kansas City
Week 2: Liberty North at Liberty (may have a few folks there LOL)
Week 3: Liberty at Lee's Summit North (this one may be on TV)
Week 4: Odessa at Oak Grove (first time in MANY years)
Week 5: North Kansas City at Staley
Week 6: Kearney at Winnetonka
Week 7: Smithville at Raytown
Week 8: Open (Liberty at Ray Pec if not on TV)
Week 9: North Kansas City at Liberty

HEAVY slant toward a few Northland teams should be pretty obvious. Class 6 looks about as exciting as it gets up/over this way.

Working on NWCMO Pick Em as well. 8-man is going to be a doozy (it keeps growing we may go to TWO contests - one for 11 and another for 8 man) to track.

New This Season?

If you are new to Mosports this season I figured I would give you a little insight into the board and some of the running jokes and long time groups on the board

The Doc Guys
A group of Documentary legends who give advice and talk about the good old days on the board we are lucky enough they choose to hang out here.

Kearney Moms
A rumor of them distracting the coach during the game blew up. The rumor was True

I'm going to let my fellow MoSporters fill in the rest of the info for the board as there are too many inside jokes and traditions for one post

IMG Academy vs “fake high school” Bishop Sycamore crazy story

suprising

Pacific beat Borgia for the first time in 26 years Borgia had outscored
Pacific by over 200 points in games played. With Borgia getting smaller
as a school they aren't the Borgia of old Dropping to class 2 I thought
they might be a factor but they will not win their District.

class 2 and 5

Since I retired from teaching and coaching for 34 years I follow high school football very closely up here
in the St. Louis area. The only schools that might give Lamar some trouble in class 2 are Lutheran St. Charles
They have their entire team back from last year. Last year they had to stop for 4 weeks and couldn't get their
teamwork back and lost to Duchene in District Finales. Their running back is going to Stanford they have
a defensive lineman going D! he hasn't decided who yet. Their QB I coached his dad he has numerous D2 offers.
But again I am not sure they can beat Lamar. Also which is very surprising Borgia who is always really good
dropped to class 2. Had no idea they lost that much enrollment being a Catholic School and the multiplier
is very surprising. They get a lot of the best players from the surrounding public schools.
Class 5 up here is loaded and could be better than class 6. Webb wouldn't see any team in this part of the state
until the final game. Webb will have to deal with teams like staley in the semis but again Webb might be better
than all the teams up here.

Just a different sitution

I watched a lot of highlights of teams down in southwest Missouri, the numbers of Kids in these programs
are incredible. Smaller schools look like they avg 50 to 60 kids in the program. Between Webb and Jopling there
had to be 150 kids dressed out. Up here in the St. Louis area and going West about 60 miles, I have looked at rosters
of classes 3, 4, and class 5. I saw at least 12 schools that had less than 28 kids in the entire program. In many classes 5
In public schools, I saw at least 10 schools with less than 38 players in the entire program.CBC, Desmet, and other private
schools for the most part have decent numbers. Example Normandy High school is playing with 25 kids and 11
are freshmen, Jennings has 27 total kids, Duborgh has 24 total kids, Bayless maybe 33, Brentwood 23, Big school like McClure has maybe 38 kids.
There are many more examples of schools with very little interest in playing Football. Not really sure why football struggles with
such little interest among boys wanting to play. Southwest Missouri has no trouble with numbers.
