WHAT a week! On to the FINAL week of this first 2023 contest (9): Have selected 18 games with a single tiebreak for prize position if needed. Games will post tomorrow morning with a 7 PM THURSDAY deadline for entries (the out of region game will contest that evening). There will be no Saturday games BUT I am out of town on business so it is very likely everything will post after I return Saturday evening (will notify if I can break free Friday night to work on this). GOOD LUCK everyone and please don't forget the winner-take-all PLAYOFF CHALLENGE will commence right after this contest ends!

Big 8 pick ‘em Standings after Week 8

Some definite movement this week in the standings. There were only a few perfect pickers this week.
The Hollister/Catholic game got most people, myself included.
Still a pretty close race as far as the top 10 is concerned. Lots of games left, especially when weeks 10-11 come around and we’ll probably have a minimum of 10-12 games a week for at least the start of districts.

Week 8 and overall stats sneak peek coming up................

$6 Billion to terrorism

Babies beheaded in front of parents. Women raped and killed. Communities slaughtered. What is that idiot Biden thinking??? Iran is at the top of terrorism sponsorship. Not to mention Iran building nuclear weapons. Both parties are against this. You people who put him in office need to apologize to the world now.

NBC NEWS — The Biden administration is reserving the option to halt Iran’s access to $6 billion it is set to receive as part of a prisoner exchange deal the White House and Tehran reached last month, but so far, it sees no need to do so, according to three sources familiar with the discussions.
The White House has faced bipartisan pressure since Hamas attacked Israel to block Iran from accessing any of the $6 billion, particularly as the U.S. tries to assess whether Iran had any direct involvement in the attack.
“These funds should remain frozen until we can determine whether Iran played a role in the attack and what the appropriate U.S. response should be,” Sen. Bob Casey, D-Pa., said in a statement Wednesday.
Sen. Tammy Baldwin, D-Wis., issued a similar statement, and Sens. Jon Tester, D-Mont., and Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., on Tuesday called for the U.S. to refreeze the assets.

Union members for Trump

They must be the uneducated voters he talks about because this guy has been anti union his entire life. But since he SAYS he is pro-worker, the cult falls for it.

He has always been nothing more than a bag of wind. His appointees to the NLRB and the SCOTUS have made ruling after ruling against unions.

Trump promised he would impose steep tariffs on vehicles coming from Mexico, a promise he is making again now on the campaign trail. But his 2020 update of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which has long been deeply unpopular with many blue collar workers, imposed no such tariffs on vehicles coming from Mexico, and has done little to change the flow of vehicles across US borders.

Trump was famous for making promises that he would stop businesses from moving operations out of the country or shutting them down. Among his most vocal promises was that he would stop GM from closing the massive assembly plant in Lordstown, Ohio.

In a 2017 speech in nearby Youngstown, he promised residents that manufacturing jobs would be returning to the region, telling the crowd: “Don’t move. Don’t sell your house.”

But shortly thereafter GM closed the plant, despite Trump’s calls to GM CEO Mary Barraand attacks on the company’s closure plans.

First round district game mileage

Did a little poking around just for the heck of it.
In Class 1 District 2, if the current seeing holds, Chaffee would be the 6 seed and would travel in the district quarterfinals to Tipton... a mere 272 miles.
This district just blows my mind.
With the exception of Portageville and Charleston (which are both within an hour of Chaffee but in a different district) THERE ARE LITERALLY NO CLASS 1 SCHOOLS FURTHER AWAY.
