The North Central Missouri Conference will provide quality
competition in the race for the title as Hannibal searches for replacements on
the line to go with their speedy group.

1) Hannibal-- An
8-4 playoff squad a season ago Hannibal returns four offensive starters, five on
defense, but must replace most of their lineman from a season ago. A pair
of all-state selections lead the way for the Pirates. Senior DB/RB Caleb Bieniek(6-0
190) and senior OG/DT Jake Borgmeyer(6-0 265) will lead the Pirate squad.
Head coach Mark St. Clair says "We will need to get up to
speed on the offensive line with only two starters returning up front. We have
some quality starters and a good deal of speed returning for the season."
5-foot-9 inch, 175-pound junior running back Mitch Nichols
is a newcomer to keep an eye on. A week three showdown when the Boonville
Pirates visit could very well determine the league champion.

A 5-6 playoff team a season ago the Spartans return four
offensive and 5 defensive starters for the 2012 campaign.

kids I have coached in the last few years", commented head coach Jason Ambroson.
"They have had a great summer of development, but have a long way to go as
football players and as a football team. They have the potential to earn a
victory every time they step on the field."
A season ago the Spartans averaged just
15 points per game, while allowing nearly 20. Top returning Spartans

football mentor in Mexico, for the fourth season in five years the Bulldogs

Springs) after just one season. Ty Harrison takes over the fortunes of the
Mexico program that finished 5-5 a year ago, 3-3 in league play.
5) Kirksville-- 3-7, 2-4 in league play the
Tigers look to get over the .500 mark. Senior quarterback Mitch
Krieghauser(5-10 155) returns along with senior fullback Parker OSborn(6-0 215),
and speedy senior running back Scott Schwend(5-7 180). On defense
senior linebacker Chase Colton(5-11 180) returns.
6) Fulton--
Very young a season ago the Hornets
hope their experience club can turn around a 2-8 finish."Hopefully that
experience will payoff this year", commented head coach Pat Kelley who returns
eight offensive starters and six defensive in their 4-3 scheme. Junior
quarterback Joe Schlemeier(6-5 230) returns after starting four
games and will be counted on to direct the offense. Keep an eye out for junior
wide receiver Dalton Horstmeier(6-4 174) who will team up with
Schlemeier and should have a big season.
7) Marshall-- 0-10 a season ago,
head coach Jay Eilers continues to lead the Owls as he attempts to turn around
the program. The Owls return quality experience this season including
Senior quarterback Alex Maupin(6-0165), senior running back Marc Plummer(5-10
170), and fullback Darrion Lawrence(5-10 195) at skill positions.
