810 Varsity closes out their basketball showcase schedule this Saturday at Lee’s Summit High School. This event may very well be their best one yet, as it’s loaded with talent at all levels. Featuring many top ranked teams in the state of Missouri, and some of the best teams in the Kansas City Metro.

Here is a preview of the games:

11:30 AM Game 1: Liberty vs Harmon

Liberty is the #8 ranked team in Missouri Class 5 and #13 in 810’s Top 25. Liberty will be led by Grant Stubbs, who is on the verge of eclipsing 1,000 career points. The Blue Jays are a well rounded team who will look to get out to an early lead and not look back. I expect Javion Byers and Jermaine Booker will look to make an impact in this game as well.

Harmon is currently ranked #4 in 6A in Kansas and #14 in 810’s Top 25. Like the Blue Jays, the Hawks are another well rounded team who get contributions from all around. Lonnell Lane, Chauncey Keys, Mike Carson, and Walzel Evans will all help lead the scoring attack for the Hawks.

1:00 PM Game 2: :Lee’s Summit West vs Leavenworth

Lee’s Summit West is ranked #20 in 810’s Top 25, which will be led by senior guards Tysen Brennan & Tayven Glasgow. Glasgow & Brennan are a great backcourt duo together, who really mesh well. Brennan is a sharpshooter who has the ability to light it up from three, and Glasgow is a great all-around player who will look to guard Leavenworth’s best player and give him trouble.

Leavenworth will be led by Alan Robinson, Jr. on Saturday. The Pioneers will come in looking to play aggressive from the start and hope to force turnovers early and convert them into points. They’ll be looking to spoil LSW’s Saturday in hopes for an upset bid.

2:30 PM Game 3: William Chrisman vs Blue Valley West

Chrisman is currently ranked #18 in 810’s Top 25. The Bears will be led by their talented point guard, Isaiah Jackson. Jackson is a gamer who can do it all for the Bears. He will bring tenacious defense and will look to get his teammates going early.

Blue Valley West is currently ranked #24 in 810’s Top 25. The Jaguars will be led by the duo of Omar Stanley and Spencer Bain. Stanley has been on a tear the last few weeks, leading his Jaguars in scoring during the Valley Center tournament last week. The big man will look to continue to wreak havoc in the post come Saturday. Bain will also be looking to get things going early. Bain is a talented guard who can shoot and will be feeding Stanley early.

4:00 PM Game 4: Grandview vs CBC (St. Louis, Mo)

Grandview is currently ranked #5 in Class 4 and #16 in 810’s Top 25. They’ll be led by sophomore sensation Taj Manning and current Air Force commit, Reggie Morris, Jr. The Bulldogs will need their star duo to be at their best come this Saturday.

CBC will be in town from Saint Louis, who are currently ranked #5 in Class 5. They will be led by their star senior point guard, Caleb Love who is a McDonald’s All-American and North Carolina commit. Love is an aggressive guard who can score at all three levels and finish at the rim. Love will be looking to score early and get his teammates involved. He will be accompanied by Larry Hughes, Jr., the son of former NBA player, Larry Hughes. The younger Hughes is a tough guard, crafty, and has an advanced lay-up package. He’ll be looking to feed off of Love and hope to lead his team to victory.

This will most certainly be the highlight event that will have loads of high major talent involved. Must-see basketball!

7:30 Game 6: Lee’s Summit vs Lee’s Summit North

Lee’s Summit, the host team will be led by their big man, Max Whisner. Whisner is a skilled big man who will look to be aggressive in the post early and use his array of moves to get things going. The Tigers bring a balanced scoring attack and will hope to capitalize early.

Lee’s Summit North will be led by Kolby Franklin. Franklin is a long and athletic guard, who uses his length to his advantage on the defensive end. Lee’s Summit North’s experienced guards and balanced scoring attack will look to get out to a fast start on Saturday in this Rivalry Game.

Anyone in the KC area this weekend should make a point to come to this event. It’s going to be an outstanding day of games. Especially the 4 PM. I’m excited to be a part of this day
