You think there were a JV QB and RB w butterflies in the stomach?

Because MSHSAA actually enforced their transfer ruling on him because his previous school raised questions. Meanwhile Coach Reed has all of his twitter folks running wild on Mshsaa saying how messed up it is, blah blah blah.. so when he has his appeal heard in Two weeks(?) now he’ll likely get it overturned and no longer be forced to play JV. Squeaky wheel gets the grease

Seems over the top to me as well. Seems like most would agree the transfers, loopholes, etc are becoming out of control but who knows. Things went on years ago, just not as publicized in the pre-twitter days as they are now.

I think the wheel on the opposite side of the bike is squeaking pretty loudly too. MSHSAA will actually have to make a decision that will make people angry one way or the other.
Being the neutered pansies they are, they’re currently huddled up like a covey of shivering quail, debating on the course of least controversy.

Things have always gone on. However, they've taken on a life of their own in the last handful of years.

I don't care where or what level he plays. I just don't understand why you would go to all the trouble? The coaching staff and parents knew best case scenario would involve jumping through hoops to get him eligible. He is already on the national radar and will be regardless where he plays. He could have been playing varsity for a competitive or religious, what ever draws them to LN, school somewhere this past weekend. I guess I don't see why all the fuss just to be playing for LN when you live in an area with numerous good options that are not 30 miles from home.

Apparently not. Good for them!

I just became a fan (as long as they don’t have a “Turnover Chain”)

This tickles me to no end....

It’s a JV game and St. Mary’s is another STL Area private school that recruits.

Odd that you’re so jazzed about the outcome of a freshman football game, but I suppose you have to find SOME way to entertain yourself while every P5 college coach lines up to woo Ford.

His stock will probably go down quite a bit if he continues to get owned by scrubs in JV games

His stock is fine. Nick Saban doesn’t appear too concerned. He’s the 4th ranked DE in the country. You could combine all of the offers from all of the players of your favorite schools, and they STILL wouldn’t come close to this kid’s.

The 4th ranked DE in the country ought to be able to do something to prevent some Class 2 sophomore team from hanging 38 points.

But maybe if his coach weren’t tweeting out ridiculous banners about his huge JV breakout game?

Karma

Again

Jim Harbaugh didn’t seem to think negatively of him when Michigan Football tweeted their support of him yesterday.

The score of a JV football game isn’t “karma”. His being the only 5 Star recruit in Missouri in years ... IS.

You’ll have several more years to be jealous of him when you watch him on TV.

What’s more important? Winning a game or Twitter glory?

I hope he does well. I just wish he were doing it at LSC.

The kid has offers from every premier college program in the country, and every one of them comes to Lutheran North to visit and talk about how their kids might fit within those college teams’ plans.

It was their HC’s efforts to help his players get exposure 5 yeas ago that created that.

It’s ACTUAL glory ... and the kids playing for your favorite high school go to bed every night WISHING they had the same opportunities. Deep down, you do too.

I seem to remember this same crap about DGB being the best high school player in the country.......hope this kid doesn’t end up being his cellmate

Glory???????
These kids are getting used for 2-3 years then trash canned

You do realize I hope that schools can have a maximum of 85 players on scholarship. They will offer 200-250 kids but in reality only about 35 will get a letter in the mail with the paperwork.

As bad as this kid is screwing up his senior year he better worry about graduating and getting good enough scores he is eligible to play if someone takes a chance on him

I will not be surprised if goes on to be successful at Ohio St, OU, Bama or wherever but this tweet has to be THE cheesiest thing i’ve ever seen on this board. It would be the cheesiest thing on the macaroni and pizza board too.

Tweet was something else, I am assuming that the intent was to draw attention to the upcoming eligibility hearing. Like look at the ridiculousness of a player of this caliber being made to play JV ball. IDK not there so don't truly know.

Exactly!!!!!! But honestly he shouldn’t be allowed to play at any level.

At worst, he’ll be playing next year. You’ll also get a few years to watch him playing college ball. I’m sure you and the rest of your friends will still be here, bitching anonymously, and fantasizing about what your lives could’ve been if you’d been able to live out your own football dreams.

I’m stoked to watch you lose your shit if MSHSAA clears him to play in a few weeks, though.

I figured you'd be too busy with Twitter to post here as much as you do.

Nope. I’ve got plenty of free time and I’m not going anywhere. Just wait until I REALLY get warmed up as the season progresses. Things’ll peak this December when the first wave of STL kids sign their NLIs.

Cheaters cheat. It don't matter. I was thinking DGB the same thing. He didn't want to go to Alabama becuz not fun, meaning Saban not going to let me smoke the guanja.

Why would anyone, anywhere, give a rats ass if he plays football or not??

I just have an issue with people cheating and MSHSAA not holding them to the rules everyone has agreed to play by.

Honestly I had never heard of the kid until this thread started.

Longest thread ever about a jv game.

Missouri should split into two classifications, not public and private, but regular Missouri schools with the other classification being schools that are within an hour of St Louis. They really are two different types of high school football. I wish this board would go back to being that way, lol.

Just because you don’t like it, doesn’t make it cheating.

For the record, DGB went to a public school in SWMO. Try again.

It isn’t cheating to send you kid to a private school. What you don’t like, is that someone else is making decisions that you don’t like. That’s not MSHSAA’s problem. That’s yours.

You don’t need to know his name. Every National Football Power, and the players from your local high school, DO. Recognition from an anonymous clown in a truck stop town in Missouri doesn’t matter. Not even here.

You should suggest that to MSHSAA. There aren’t many teams outside of STL that matter to anyone that doesn’t live in those towns, anyway. You can keep the football gene pool as shallow as you’d like, and tell stories in front of the Tastee Freeze about how good a player you were in 1980.

I know where DGB came from. Hillcrest in Springfield. You must not remember his newspaper interview when he was a senior in high school. Said he didn't like his trip to Alabama, thought Saban may be too business like. In the same interview the reporter said that he tried twice to get the waitress at the resteraunt the interview was taking place at to get him a drink. That was foreshadowing. The me, look at me attitude always gets me.

I think the fact that he had a serious addiction to drugs and no one cared enough or was able to help him deal with it, was what was foreshadowing. Not sure what dots your struggling to connect between him and other kids that are heavily recruited.
