Muslim extremists suicide bombers killed 123 Shiites on Friday.

Interestingly, I had just read on Wed. that the US Defense Department announced that $500 million in weapons aid to Yemen were "lost". Why do we continue to arm these unstable nations with arms to eventually be used against us? We continue to make the same mistakes.

Maybe I don't see the big picture when it comes to our foreign policy. I am an avowed isolationist and have been for many years. Half of our annual budget goes to defense department and what have we accomplished other than feed the war machine? It is the same mindset in foreign policy that we have had for the past 50 years. Democracy can not be forced on people who do not have the support of the vast majority of it's people and are willing to fight for THEIR freedom. All of our presidents continue to follow the advice of our military leaders who happen to be in the business of war.

We spent $25 billion propping up Iraq's military in the early 2000s, only to see to see them overrun by militants that are now using our military aid. We repeat our mistakes all the way back to Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, and on and on. Besides the drain on our economy, we fail to recognize that we are not and cannot continue to be the world police.

The argument I hear against isolationism is that "this or that" will happen. How do we know we will be harmed? Radical militant Muslims are spreading even with our military aid. I say we withdraw from the Middle East. We use part of the money we save by using a portion to keep our military strong, and use the rest here at home where it is needed.

IF we do suffer another attack like 9/11, which I believe to be inevitable, then go in with the full force of our military and "if you ain't with us, then your agin us".

Agreed. There are three things that drive our foreign policy and they're all bad for us.

Oil
Military Industrial Complex
Israel

I don't think there can be much intelligent argument to this.

And the $500 million worth of weapons that ISIS just inherited when they moved into Yemen. We keep sending weapons to people that we don't know very well and they can't or won't fight enough to even keep the weapons out of the hands of ISIS.

Saudis rolled in today. We have us a proxy war between Saudi Arabia/Sunnis and Iran/Shiite Houthi rebels.

What a mess.

And Iran has become a very big factor in controlling ISIS in Iraq. I say turn em loose on those devils and let em do their thang.
