Yadi is still a Cardinal

Looks like 9 mil for a one year deal. Maybe he'll stick around and be a coach after that.
Now they need get a deal done with Jack and not let him get away.

Agreed on Jack. Glad to have Yadi back, hopefully, he can stay healthy. Little worried about the rotation to be honest. I think we will have some more fire power this year but we may need it a lot more than the last few years.

Yeah and they just added bullpen guy from the Phillies for cash. I assume that means someone from the pen is definetely going into the rotation. Last I heard they were looking for another arm so I thought that might be a starter since Gomber is gone.

Almost has to be Reyes then. I could see them trying to move Helsley into that role too. Jack, KK, Mikolas, Waino and CMart/Ponce is the rotation. Potential to be good but some real inconsistencies there. I hope losing Wong’s glove doesn’t harm them too much and Edman can fill that void. Need an inning eater, hopefully Miles can return to form. When he is on, he’s extremely efficient. We could have a top 3 defensive unit in the infield for sure and with Bader in Center, O’Neil in left and Carlson in right we could be a top 5 defense overall. Haven’t been this excited for Cardinal baseball in a while!

Hicks will be back too, the pen should be pretty awesome. We'll see who can take the 5th starter job, or maybe it'll be a rotation in that spot and keep guys fresh. Could be a fun season for sure.

Given Ben Fred’s article in the P-D the other day, it’s likely to be a rotation of guys. First three candidates mentioned were Reyes, CMart, and Ponce. Then mentioned Oviedo and Woodford. After those two it was Cabrera and Gant. Last two were Libatore and a name that escapes me now. I’d be willing to be at least a handful of those guys make at least a start or two. Hard for me to picture a scenario where Mikolas and Waino make it through an entire season. It’s an odd thing, I think the SP could be a huge strength or a glaring weakness.
