Worst Nightmare for MoSports posters?

It would be that the six St. Louis teams make the finals and CBC wins Class 6. Can you imagine if CBC wins class 6 and Vianney, Ladue, MICDS, Trinity, Cardinal Ritter and Lutheran North all win this weekend and then they all go in and win Class 2 thru Class 6 titles? Wow, that would blow some of the posters on here out of the water!!! Here is my breakdown of the games this weekend for the STL schools!!!

Class 6 Finals

CBC over Rockhurst-Would love to see Coach Severino go out a winner, but CBC has too much for them. I think this game will be closer than first one, but CBC prevails in the end.

Semi Finals

Vianney vs Carthage- Talking all year about Notre Dame Recruit Kyren Williams, but Carthage is top ranked. Can Carthage limit the big plays by Vianney is the key, because Vianney’s defense is not great. I will go with Vianney in this one.

Ladue vs Webb City- Ladue plays great defense and is opportunistic on offense. Webb City is Webb City. Can Ladue handle the pressure of playing at Webb City? Would love to see Ladue with this one but I learned while never to bet against Webb City. But what the heck, I will go with Ladue to continue its run.

MICDS vs Smithville- MICDS has a great athlete in Graham Bundy who has shown out in the last two games. Smithville has beat Kearney and Platte County in recent weeks, so as much as I want an all STL Final, I will go with Smithville. I keep picking against MICDS and they keep winning, so maybe this pick will help them prevail.

Cardinal Ritter vs Mount Vernon- Cardinal Ritter can hit you in a hurry, so this game depends on how well Mount Vernon can control the line of scrimmage and play ball control. If they can do this, they can win. But Ritter has so many speed guys I think they take this one.

Trinity vs Maryville- Wow!!! Great matchup but I will go with Trinity in this one. Had a wake up call this week in close game at Southern Boone. I just think they have too much for Maryville, and game has been moved to a turf field. All STL Final Trinity vs Cardinal Ritter

Lutheran North vs Blair Oaks- From what people say, this is a heavyweight battle!!! If Blair Oaks can get a lead and make Lutheran North pass the ball, they have a chance. Not sure if Azubuike will be back for Lutheran North, that will be the key. If he is back, I think North takes this one. If he does not play, I go with Blair Oaks.

Please, nothing will change based on the championships this year. Even if they make changes, as long as there is still football, I'm good. Only you rural MO people care about public vs private.

You are right nothing will change. Why change the cash grab? And the acknowledgement is something they wouldn’t want to entertain. These teams bring attention to MO football. And bring the state looks for D1 colleges. Private schools are not going to change.

No because Stl posters are not going out of their way to root for BO or Maryville to lose against any other team except for the Stl teams. A lot of people here root for just about anybody to take down Stl teams, specifically Trinity or LN.
 
That is a shame. Other STL teams should root for other STL teams especially conference opponenets and other teams they see on a constant basis. Quite a few of those teams kids should know other kids from those schools too. When it came to last week with Southern Boone and Trinity, Blair Oaks was cheering for their tri county conference member school to advance in class 3 as well as Maryville to advance against Odessa.

The school itself was cheering for certain teams, or the people in the school were? Was a vote taken on what team to support?
 
oh no... no vote at all. These are the players themselves supporting each other between schools. These students know each other and they support each other.

The Maryville Newspaper did an article earlier this month on this very thing about the friendship between Blair Oaks and Maryville football teams.

The students maybe but I’d venture a guess that some BO coaches were pulling for Odessa since some from both teams have coached together in the past.

Whatever, I don't tout either school as the best, and I certainly don't state opinions as fact about either school MOST times. Just about all of my posts are in defense of the pure hatred for these programs. You don't like it, and THAT fuels your fire even more. I understand that I have been a dick today, but if you read my past posts you will see that I don't act like any team in the Stl area is superior. Any team can lose any day. You know this as you even aplogized to me on an occasion or two because you thought I was trying to convey a certain message, which wasn't the case.

This is how it should be. There is nothing wrong with cheering teams from your area on, even if your team lost to an opponent from your area in the playoffs.

Based on the overall support and lack of community a lot of these smaller private schools have. I am sure trinity would have a crowd like a Mt Vernon. Come on now DO31280....you didn't have shit to say until someone else brought it up so don't try to jump in this discussion.

And just so you know, the last Trinity Cardinal Ritter game drew a very large crowd and the LN/Trinity district final last year shut down the Stl area, so yeah, there would be a good crowd in Columbia if the two class 3 teams are fortunate enough to meet up.
