Willow Springs 54 - Alton 60 (FINAL)

I was getting text updates from someone at the game since I couldn’t find a stream.
They’ve got a lot of young talent. I believe one of if not the only senior on Willows squad also contributed 13 pts.
But Willows soph class is good. I just don’t know if the current coach is going to be able to get the best out of any of the players.
Just inexperience. He’s a good guy and he’s no stranger to basketball but with all the talent coming up it just seems like the timing is off for someone with little or no head coaching experience to be at the helm.
I’ve been told by multiple people that there was someone who was supposed to be on staff and for whatever reason that didn’t end up happening and it would have been a homerun hire even if he was just to be an assistant.
So knowing who they could have had to help in comparison to who they do have, just makes me wonder what if. That’s all.
Though I didn’t go to school there very long, I’m a willow alum. And was paid to cover willow springs bears sports for 2 years back in my sportswriter days many moons ago. So I still keep up with the coaching hiring and whatnot.
They have talent coming up do you know something that like to share? As someone who is close to the conference ain’t heard that or seen it
I mean the Jones girl is one of the best guards in the conference as a sophomore.
They’ve got two post players over 6 foot that are a soph and a freshman.
Have a really athletic forward who should develop into their best defender who is 5’9 as a soph.
All in all, they should have a solid season or at least a winning season hopefully with 1 senior and 4 Sophs starting and their “6th man” is a freshman.
After they all gain experience this year, I look for the next two years to be the most loaded Willow has been in both basketball and volleyball in quite awhile.
They have like 20 soph and fresh players on the basketball roster and only 2 upperclassmen.
4 am on christmas morning and you all are discussing willow girls basketball!?!?!

I plan on coming day 2 or day 3 to the Grove tournament. I won't be with either set of fans tho. I try to hit up a variety of things this week. Blue and Gold, Pink and White, Cabool Tournament. So much basketball this week and not enough time to see it all.
Well I will be there all week so maybe we should have a proper introduction I have met a few people on here so it’s nice to put faces with the screen names
I went to early games at both the B&G and MG tourney today.
Will be at the Willow game at B&G tomorrow and hopefully the next day. May not get back to the MG tourney. We’ll see. M

I wasn’t finding any streams for this years tournament on that page. For any of the games as of 3PM this afternoon.
Gotcha. Didn’t know if I was missing something and maybe they were streaming on Facebook or something.
