He would likely break the record for first time arbitration eligible starting pitchers if they don't agree on a contract. I guess we'll see what price he throws at them when the time comes and what they counter with. I assume they will try to settle on an extension before it comes to that. Anyway they go about it he will get a very big raise for the upcoming season.

With the big Cardinal show going on this week it will be done by Sunday or Monday!!

Hope you're right vb he has been an innings eater and has won a lot of games wearing the Bird's uniform. Seems like he has gotten past his early issues when something goes wrong behind him.

Before I read the article at the post I guessed he would get 20-25 M. seems like the price is fair.

Looks like a pretty fair deal for both sides. I'm glad they got it done.

I wouldn't have minded a fourth year option from the perspective of the Cards but I get why they accepted the three year deal

I see they also signed Tony Cruz to a one year deal after they finished up with L.L. No money details were given on the website.
