I suspect after camps and jambos there won't be many teams left playing.

The officials point is a good one too. I'd guess the pool will shrink by half so that leaves most small schools ($$$$) out of the mix.

Thought it was clear they wouldn't come back if the season was canceled. Certainly don't wish for any of us to get the 'rona.

E-suicide looks appealing with all our troubles, but someone has to man the forum gate. That mission keeps my focus sharp.

Let me set the stage:

Week 10. We’re 8-1 at our 9-0 opponents and were both ranked. This was during the 4 team district years where 1/4 get to advance. So, this is for all the marbles and both of us believe whoever wins may not see a viable opponent until the semis.

@shortbutfat may remember this one as he was officiating. The refs were great. The chain crew couldn’t do anything right and, as we’re the visitors, they’re on our sidelines.

In the 4th quarter, we’re down 14-8 and marching. We get a key, crucial first down and the officials are waving the crew to reset the chains.

Nothing’s happening and I tap the closest one on the should to get him to notice the officials.

He turns around, PULLS AN EARPIECE OUT OF HIS EAR and with a stupid grin says “The Cardinals are up 3-2!” Like I gave...in that moment...a flying flamingo fart what was going on in a Cardinal baseball game.

It all made sense. These yuck yucks all had earpieces in and were listening to the baseball game, which pissed me off to no end.

I musta chewed that poor guys ass for a solid 2 minutes.

I laughed for a good solid 10 minutes at this. Sooooo, how does the story end?

Have listened to many a Cardinal playoff game at crucial late season contests. Not as a participant in a Chain Gang Bang however. Too much stimulation for me.

I coached an away game where the refs were named Homer Smith, Homer Simpson, Homer Jones, and Homer Ignatowski.

We go up 15-14 on that drive.

Opponent had a final drive - got into our territory and failed to convert on fourth down...EXCEPT...one of our enthusiastic, and overzealous, defenders gets an unnecessary hit out of bounds penalty. With the 15 yards and fresh set of downs, they score on us with 8 secs left in the game.

I believe they turbo-clocked their first two playoff opponents until losing a close one in the final 4.

They had a fine ball team that season. Better than us...by a little.

Camps and Jambos were all cancelled a couple weeks ago by coaches. But still gotta wonder how much is gonna happen
