Why?

Regardless of party, one person should not wield this amount of power
Why? He was elected to that position by our representatives. Without someone saying what gets a vote, every day would be filled with votes on things that each member wants to draw attention to. If he isn't doing what is wanted he can be replaced at ANY time. He may be the one making the decisions but he is supported by those who elect him.
Once again, why not?

Once again, why not?
Because NO ONE PERSON should ever have that much power and we have one in each chamber of congress. There should always be discussion on a bill and he won't even allow that most of the time. EVERY bill that comes up has never made it to a vote but all should get a discussion on the floor. Why do we have two people each elected in ONE state have more power than the president himself. He can only sign or veto a bill IF it gets to his desk, he has no say on whether or not it gets a vote in the house or senate. If they're too busy in congress to do their job they should stay on the job a little more often.
