Why have ties at the Final Four???

Does anyone know the reasoning behind having ties at the Final Four? Haven't Vianny and Rockhurst shared co-1st place titles before as well? What do you all think?

I'm really not sure why they do it that way. The only thing that I can think of is that the state doesn't want some one to lose in something that takes most the skill away from the game (assuming Pk's is the answer to breaking the ties.) But I really don't know, I say let the players determine it on the field and after two 10 minute overtimes, go to Pk's and have at it.

To me it just seems ridiculous to get all that way and tie... If I were playing or coaching I would rather get there and lose (in either pks or overtime) and know that the place I left with was determined by my play rather than calling it a draw. That far in the season you can't be worried about hurting someone's feelings for calling them the second or fourth best team in the state...

I believe it is becuase you do not have to advance any further than where you have gotten. Meaning that there's nothing past state so there technically doesn't have to be a winner, but yes it is ridiculous.
