I believe they pitched him tonight to save face for making the same mistake two years in a row of handcuffing themselves by carrying a pitcher they weren't going to use. If you believe otherwise, then why not use him yesterday when they needed long relief in a big way? The brass read the comments all over the internet of their fans and were feeling the heat.

Part of me also believes that once Yadi got hurt, the management may have not really wanted to play the Royals running game.
