1. SoBoCo
2. Versailles
3. Blair Oaks
4. Boonville
5. California
6. Osage
7. Eldon
8. Hallsville
Just guessing but it wide open this year for sure.

Williams kid at Versailles will make them tough. They scored over 100pts several times last year. But it would be hard for me not to go with Blair Oaks in this field.. Unless I'm missing something?

Blair Oaks will always be in this conversation. I believe SBC has everyone coming back and addition of an extremely talented freshman player. They will be in the mix.

Blair Oaks has lost a lot of pieces. Have to stay healthy in season and through the rest of football because the depth is not there. The Murdock kid will be the difference at Versailles. Can guard all positions and causes a lot of mis matches

Agree with everything that has been said. Versailles will be tough. Going to be interesting if they continue that furious pace with a change at head coach. SBC probably returns the most talent in the conference. And BO is a favorite because... well, they always are.

Where did their coach go? And who is the new guy? And are you saying the Versailles kids 29ppg are a little inflated due to style of play?
Curious about all this. BO is the only team I saw play from this group last year.

Losing Coach Ollison for Versailles is a major loss. If he was still their coach I would like their chances for more, now major question marks.

Not saying that at all. That Williams kid would be a 29+ ppg type kid running the flex lol. Just didn't know if they would be fast and furious and he would see as many shot attempts. Coach Walters will do a great job I'm sure, might even run the same style. Was just saying it will be interesting to see if the style will be different.

A Boonville freshman expected to get a lot of varsity minutes and possibly start was injured in football and will probably miss the entire basketball season. Boonville may have also lost another starter due to a football injury this past Friday. Haven't heard anything official but the rumor is he may miss the entire season. These injuries drop Boonville from a possible sleeper to completely unknown, they will have a little size if they want to go that way. I would expect them to get out of the gate slow but may improve as the season progresses.

That is a shame if true. Injuries are a part of it, but you hate to see it happen to kids. Coach Ollison went to Lincoln University as the head softball coach. Coach Walters did a great job with the kids this summer from what I seen. Will not be as deep as the last couple years. Tri-County is more wide open than ever this year.

Their JV has dominated a lot the last couple of years, I think they will be fine and are the favorite to win the Tri County. They may not be quite as dominating this year.

I don't remember last year's game but 2 years ago I think they beat Boonville by 40.

It is official now, as the player is scheduled for surgery this week.

Last year was a pretty rough year for their JV
I think the BO JV beat Versailles by 40ish and SBC by 20ish. In the best season of Versailles B-Ball in recent memory LY they got Turbo Clocked by BO.

Blair Oaks are like the Chiefs in the AFC West.... They are the favorites year in and year out until someone proves otherwise. It honestly might be good for them to get into a tougher conference... When was the last time they lost a League Game or even had a close game?? Not in the last several years off the top of my head?

Change leagues? so having 2 6'10" that are D! players players over a course 6 years...what do you expect? How many teams anywhere can say that. And yes they have had close games from teams in conference and have lost in the past 3-4 years. This year will be interesting. I agree BO will be the team to beat until someone dethrones them. The competition level will be well balanced in the conference this year.

If Blair Oaks left where would they go CMAC? Don't think the NCMC is much different than the Tri-County.

They aren't leaving Tri-County. They don't have boys soccer or Tennis which many of the conferences have. Tri-County is a great fit. Travel has to be taken in consideration as well.

CMAC would make sense in several sports, but BO probably enjoys dominating the Tri to much to challenge themselves. And they would have to add soccer, tennis etc…

What is travel like in the MRVC east? Richmond and Higginsville would be much better competition than the Tri I would think.

Not that the MRVC east schools would be excited about that either.

Probably won’t ever make a switch. Just fun to ponder on.

Higginsville and Richmond better competition? LMAO!! I can name 3 other schools in Tri-County that have better sports programs....

I agree they aren't leaving but where would they go even if they wanted to. It would have to be the CMAC since there isn't any upgrade in the region.

I think I would take the bottom schools in the Tri-County over the MRVC East.
Obviously this is a bball thread. But in let’s say basketball and football (the sports that everyone follows) who in the Tri has been better than Richmond and Higginsville??

year in year out..Southern Boone, Boonville, Hallsville...in all sports not just basketball

If they are not at full strength on Saturday it could be a rough afternoon, that Reeds Spring team is really good. They hammered Osage

And that is not a knock on them, they obviously have had plenty of success in basketball. I think schedule wise Tri-County poses a tougher schedule of opponents and often times have been matched up in same district as BO or Helias or Father Tolton

I’ve just seen FB and Bball scores from the last couple years. You might be right over the long run.

They haven't been near full strength all year, and they probably lost two more starters on defense after the district championship game.

Reeds Spring still shouldn't come in overconfident especially if they think Osage blew out Boonville. That is not what happened.

With less than 10 minutes left in that game, a Boonville receiver dropped a sure-thing touchdown that would have tied the game. Next play, penalty, next play, blocked punt. (Actually, the QB/punter didn't move back far enough when fielding the snap and punted the ball off of his own center's helmet). 😂

Boonville drove all the way down the field next drive only to throw an interception in the end zone when a Boonville receiver who hadn't practiced all week because of an injured ankle fell(or was knocked down).

Osage scored on a big play shortly after that turnover, and Boonville pulled their starters to try and avoid even more injuries. The last play of the game a jv running back was smoked and Osage got a scoop and score 6 out of it. Osage outscored Boonville 28-0 in 4th quarter.

Boonville really hoped Osage would win so they could get another shot at them. The game was a lot closer than the score, and Boonville was playing the second half without a lot of players.

You could still be right. If Reeds Springs can shut down the Boonville offense like they shut down Osage, then yes, it will be a long day for Boonville. BUUUT! If Boonville can grind out drives like they have the last month they can really shorten the game and stay competitive. It really sucks that we are going to be even more shorthanded on the defensive side this week because the defense was playing the best they have played all year making big play after big play.

Not sure anything is a given, this time of year. If teams were not good, they would not still be playing...

I will say this with complete honesty. Boonville will have to play a complete game with no mistakes and win the turn over battle as well Reed Spring will have to make mistakes and cough up the ball more than they put in it in the end zone. If this happens Boonville has a chance. If not Boonville is on to Basketball and watching their Tri County partner BO compete next week.

Boonville has a lot of horseshit stuff going against them behind the scenes this week, their chances are very slim. It is a great group of seniors that will do their best for each other. That is about all that can be said.
