Who was a Jasper believer???

They weren't really that good and neither was Lockwood. So that overtime game meant nothing but a couple average teams playing for an average conference title.

Rain and wind completely took the passing game away from them. Drexel's quite a bit improved over the season

Doesnt help when part of your team decides going to the national ffa convention. Im not sure who or how many but i know that some went. As much as i would have loved to go back when i was in high school i didnt want to throw away months of work for a 5 day vacation

Talked to a drexel parent yesterday. He said Jasper just got beat up on the lines and couldn't stop Drexel's power stuff. Drexel was too physical and hit jasper like it appeared they hadn't been hit all year. Sounds a lot like last year minus the speed.

Everyone (mostly) improved over the season.
50-8 there's not much room for excuses.
85-8 against the 'down' WEMO in district the last two years.

That said I've always maintained Jasper is one of the best coached teams around. Just don't have the horses.

Which kids from jasper chose FFA? If they lost a couple of key players it could make a big difference in their team.

Well honestly I couldn't fault them much. What they accomplish in FFA is what most of them will be supporting their families with if farming is their profession. Kind of sucks that it couldn't be scheduled around football

While i've admitted Jasper didn't really impress me, something was up to get that final score. Jasper wasn't a powerhouse but they weren't a doormat either. My initial reaction was half the team must have been suspended or something. I don't know if the FFA affected that game or not but the weather wasn't enough to affect a mostly running team. I wish someone with knowledge of the situation would speak up either way.

85-8 over two years.

Not sure you can explain that away.

I dont claim to be an expert on their football team but a little digging i can find 3 players that went but they were freshmen and sophomores. I thought maybe the quarterback went but it doesnt apper to be the case

I do think it crap that FFA, district choire, Volleyball rd. 1 are all that week AND host football teams CAN play Dist. games on Sat. If they were moved back 1 week, only 1/2 as many kids are affected. PS: FFA in school is: a. overrated or b. We should offer football 7 hours a day. - I knew in high school I wanted to coach.

We will find out a lot about Jasper and Lockwood after the Drexel-Midway game Friday. Even in down years the WEMO usually has some pretty salty teams

I’ll have flogged this dead horse flogged bloody ere next fall’s jamborees.

Really?!? To quote ESPN "COME ON MAN"

FFA is a tremendous organization but the 'it's their future' argument carries a fraction of the weight it would have 30 years ago.
Fewer kids can carve a future from agriculture with each passing year.
Plus???
Yes.
The convention isn't agriculture rocket science ... it's a vacation! :D

Is it just me or does that TE have an ineligible receiver jersey number in the Mox gif? Someone needs to tell him to get set and to quit squirming around in his stance, too. And what’s with the depth of those RB’s? And in a two point stance? Someone better let Webb know their split back alignment is off: consult the Mox documentary for how to properly align.
Perhaps they are going to run the "tackle eligible" play. The Mox was an offensive innovator.
